NRL 360 Ben Ikin replacement?

odd , that a lot if people disliked ikin( not myself ) , however looking back on it he was the perfect personality for the role.

a milder character then the others, a calming influence , who often took the neutral ground when surrounded by the stronger personalities. often times the voice of reason , and being sensible , as opposed to kents bull at a gate persona.

i think hell be missed.

I liked Ikin regardless if he sometimes didn't say a good word about the Roosters (even though many times he said good things) because not everyone has to like Us. I thought he was objective. Not everyone has to be talking up the Roosters when we didn't deserve it.

ikin said this week , the one person who he wish he got on who he never did, was uncle nick ...interesting ....rothfield often times seems a big defender of the roosters, wonder if he has a soft spot for us.

To be fair, my high school had Campo's (lesser known) ex as a teacher. She coached rugby and knew her stuff better than any other yawnion coach I had as a kid. Hadn't played but had been around rugby players 24/7, attended games every week and had talked tactics with one of the best in the business over the dinner table.

So I mean... you do learn stuff by being with a player I reckon. More than I'll ever know...

ahh, well yeah anyone can have an opinion but for me personally I watched 360 to get insight from multiple different perspectives.. including first hand experience.. I just think the main panel losses so much when you take out a player for just another fan/journalist.. you need a balance.

I thought Yvonne was alright until a couple of seasons ago when she started on the whole "pride of the league" BS and how "when souffs are strong the NRL is strong" rubbish. Since then I've zoned out everytime she talks

Good luck to Yvonne. She wouldn't have been my choice- i think her rugby league knowledge is way below Lara Pitt.

However her hosting role she has now is very limited-she asks the panels very stock standard questions, & she rarely has anything of substance to add. Really her main role is after the coaches press conference she goes over the points the coach made-i find it bloody annoying because we all just saw the interview!

I think having a ex-NRL player would be a better balance with a journalist like Kent....but maybe with a more open role she may make it work.Certainly i hope she has more luck than Erin Molan did when she took over from Paul Vautin on the Footy Show
