Just wondering though footy players don't have a lot of items they can claim as a tax deduction nowadays as basically everything is given to them or paid for by the club/sponsors.
Manager fees would be one thing they could claim
Items the club or sponsors may not supply such as head gear ,mouth guards footy boots and sports shoes
Judiciary appearances such as fines and associated legal costs incurred by the player and not paid for by the club
Maybe upgrade of accommodation costs - club pays for a standard room but the player upgrades to a deluxe room at their own costs
Laundry of training gear?
Approved sport supplements not paid for by the club or provided by sponsors
Costs Associated with filing Tax returns which everyone can claim

This whole thread is ridiculous LMAO I can’t believe some of you blokes believe this or think there’s some truth to it. This is the same poster who also said SBW will be here to replace cords or Staags was interested lmao my goodness. Latrell dumped all his roosters gear and was proud to show it, he’s a proud indigenous man and you can clearly tell he is loving his time over there and also he wants to be a FB which he would never get here.

For those filing a tax return this fin year the ATO will be keeping a very close eye on the following.- Work-from-home expenses
- General work related expenses
- Rental property claims
- Hidden income earned by gig economy workers and cryptocurrency traders.- data matching program
It's guaranteed that the ATO will be ramping up the numbers of desk top audits they will conduct of individual income tax assessments.
So remember to have supporting documentation for your claims and maintain these for 5 years from the date you lodge your return - usual things such as income statements/ payment summaries/receipts/invoices/time sheets for working from home claims /decline in value schedules etc as if total claim for work related expenses is greater than $300 you must have written evidence to prove/support your claims.Last edited by King Salvo; 06-29-2021, 09:24 PM.
