The Storm had two serious threats this year.

    The Roosters and Panthers.

The football Gods took us out of the equation. Are they about to do the same to Penrith?

I wouldn't mind Manly coming home with a wet sail to win. It'd be most deserved for Tom Turbo who's playing as well as anyone I've ever seen.

Confirmation Nathan Cleary suffered a labral tear (cartilage that forms “socket” of the shoulder joint) when he subluxed his shoulder in SOO2. Damage to the labrum creates instability & recurrent instability episodes (occurs in approx 20-40%) = risk of further damage

Commonly requires surgery to repair labrum/allow max stability of shoulder joint (3-6 months recovery), but often delayed til post season with return after a strengthening rehab period (60-70% of shoulder stability is muscular).

In simple terms he will probably do rehab for a minimum of 6 weeks....and then he better get ready to have some big boppers running straight at that shoulder whether he is defending or attacking

I remember when Freddy farked his shoulder against Penrith in 2003 and he carried it the rest of the year. Probably cost us a Premiership.

Looks like the same might happen to this Penrith bunch who are at risk of becoming the greatest team to never win a Premiership.

A few jabs of the old "magic juice" DECA, SUS or TREN into the shoulder ... sorry I mean "Cortisone" and he'll be fine in a few weeks

Cleary would be a candidate for recurrent shoulder dislocations due to shoulder instability or chronic shoulder Instability - Strangely the younger you are the increased % risk of re-dislocation - of course playing a contact sport is higher risk - based on that he is a 80% risk of re-dislocation of the shoulder without surgery.

With Surgery it is extremely rare for re-dislocations to occur- 3 to 6 months recovery so one figures he wont be doing that unless re-dislocations occur and it's strongly recommended surgery is required- roughly a 2 hour operation = Surgery is performed to suture the torn labrum back to the glenoid bone (labral repair).

The glenoid is the socket part of the ball-and-socket shoulder joint. It's part of the scapula (shoulder blade), which is a thin, broad bone that sits behind the rib cage. ... The glenoid socket is almost flat, which makes it quite shallow when compared to the hip joint's socket.

Hahah just a bit of tongue in cheek mate - very different circumstances. But Cooper is a legend, that is serious

Yep. He was defending on the short side and sometimes on the wing.

If Cleary sees out the season he can expect plenty of traffic. The Roosters are going through the same thing with Walker.

If Cleary is gone and Radley wakes up to himself we are not finished just yet.

Sounds like an injury that can be managed.

After Keary went down I thought it was over.

Then I saw enough in the first 70min vs Newcastle to suggest that, miraculously, we were still a serious threat.

But then for mine the ACLs to Collins and Bmoz, and now Cords retiring, has well and truly put a line through us imo. Especially with Lam offering Walker zero support.

We just don't look even close to beating a top 4 team and haven't for a year now.

Still, I reckon we can sneak a Prelim final appearance and there's plenty to be excited about with zero pressure or expectation.

I did this injury, all be it playing Rugby on the wing in a much lower grade. I was able to play on for about a year, I would partially dislocate my shoulder all the time but didn't get surgery until it fully dislocated.
I understand that playing on the wing in Rugby is nothing like playing in the middle NRL level but I think he will attempt to play on.
I was in the Navy at the time, so full free medical, coast of surgery was not an issue. I just really wanted to play Nationals for Navy and ended up doing my ACL anyway.

Honestly don’t mind if storm go B2B, we will always be the first in the modern era plus last season was shorter...I would rather them win it than Panthers, I still hold a grudge from 2003 and I won’t let it go... fark them I hope they choke at the very end again.

                              Haha.

Forgive me my moment of blashpemy. I have since repented, said a thousand hail Marys and washed my mouth out with soap.

'Twas just my zeal for our sacred B2B which I desired to keep holy!

Let's see how we go tomorrow.

                                IMO...
                                - We did beat Parra (that was a total fix).
                                - Our last game against Melbourne was a very solid performance.
                                - We were up 12-0 and looking confident against Penrith until the refs farked us over with an incorrect sin-bin ruling (two as Cleary wasn't sin-binned for his shoulder charge on Manu that caused us a heap of interchange nightmares in an already stretched squad)
                                - Our roster's looking stable heading into the finals plus our path is relatively easy after this week.

Not trying to sugar coat the up-hill journey ahead. However, I wouldn't watch is play the Drizz, Pamfers, Souffs...etc unless I thought we could win. Maybe the odds are against us right now, but that's what makes it fun to watch!!!
