This loss was hard to stomach.
But if we had Radley, Nat Butcher and Hutch , we would have had defensive players in the side, and would have kept the Storm honest ( even if we still didn't win).
Next year, with Keary and Collins back, we can mix it with the top sides.
But with all our retirements, we are short one major dominant forward, and short one explosive three-quarter., if we were to seriously challenge for the premiership in 2022.
Hopefully, between now and the end of the year, we uncover a young gun who fixes one of those problems.
I would be using the rest of 2021 to blood the youngsters in a rebuild, to see who wants to put their hand up.
We have nothing to lose- the writing was already on the wall when the 3 ACL injuries happened .

We were found wanting in every facet of the game.
The disgraceful seemingly biased refereeing didn't help.
Storm ran over us and thru us like we weren't even playing.
We're a long way from the standard required to win games against top 8 teams.
What to do about it?
No more "Caribbean holiday" training sessions....time to replace laughing with serious training.
No more Cronk coaching Melb as well as us. We need to stand alone, with our own coaches and own mentoring. Everything has to be done in secret.
From now on everything has to be different. All the big players on the market are being snapped up by other clubs.
Last night resembled the "16 yr olds versus the men" days when coach Russell Fairfax was doing his best to win games.
If this is going to be our team next season, heaven help us.Last edited by bondi.boy; 07-02-2021, 05:42 AM.

I don’t know what the answer is. In that game where south’s put 60 on us didnt cords and Keary play as well as Teddy? It just seems that after our b2b we’ve lost interest especially senior players. It’s mentally hard to compete when one has ‘been there and done that twice in a row’. The hunger is just not there anymore so a change in personnel is probably best, but it will take time for rookies to gain experience before being very competitive. Until then, we are at the mercy of the top sides. We may be lucky to make the 8. Also rule changes, ref bias and injuries have affected us. Ref bias has been notably cruel.“Soon will the present day order be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead”- (Baha’u’llah)

The season was over for the Chooks in Rd 3.
The importance of having top quality halves cannot be underestimated. The Roosters are not in the top 7 in the League when it comes to halves.
All this we are the best team on paper & come hell or high water Im supporting this team is great but the fact remains no team wins a comp with an 18YO at halfback.
The heart & soul (Cords Friend) of the team has gone & it happened unexpectedly & the void is to much to fill this year plus when you lose your best player for the season (Keary) its game over.
They will get over the Dogs next week because they also have no halves plus they also have no quality FB or hooker.

But mate I would be having a crack at you no matter what player you were having a shot at because what you are doing is crap . If it was simply Lam as the issue then I would agree whole heartly with you but its not , never has been. Its firstly the injury toll. next I would think Its a coaching issue. Then maybe a development issue and lastly a player issue , but its many players not one . Thanks Double Penetration have a great day
Lol … Double Penetration ? ... wow how original ! ... how about you come up with something original instead of remembering and recycling what Larry Long Balls threw at me on this forum on older threads you lame, unoriginal, dumb flop.
To your point, and I say this again, mate (if you can’t read properly and comprehend what I am saying that you must seriously go and get your eyes checked or stop the onslaught of penis and/or testicles that you consume on a daily basis because clearly you’re struggling to get the intent of what I am saying).
(In my opinion) The issue is, Lam has been playing poorly and he has not played a single game to-date this season where I or other fans can without hesitation, jump up and say, “He has played well, made an impact or he’s really having a red hot go”. He has taken a back seat in this dual-driver halves combination for the Roosters, this season and it is irrespective of whether he was paired with Luke Keary early on or since returning from injury and playing with whoever in the halves and I have pointed this out on other posts as well/on more than one occasion.
Yes, I agree that “last night all the players were poor and they all should be held accountable for their lack of effort, commitment, attitude and yes, obviously the injury toll and player retirements have hindered us this season and obviously we have plenty of young and inexperienced players which will take time to develop and coach but “many players, not one ?”… I beg to differ !. Many players last night, yes, that was uncharacteristic, against a red-hot form Storm side and I consider it as an anomaly because usually all those other “many players ?” do play well and would have a crack but consistently Lam has played poor. Lam’s performance isn’t a one-off incident, it’s a noticeable pattern.
He is no Cronk or Keary but when I compare him to other young halves in the comp of similar age and games (experience and exposure), he really doesn’t have anything let alone an X-Factor to offer. In all seriousness, if it weren’t for his surname (being the son of Adrian Lam), he would’ve been dropped back to reserve grade or told to find a new club a long-time ago. It won’t matter come next season as the obvious halves pairing will be Keary and Walker moving forward, so we won’t have to put up with his unserviceable shit next year.
As you were, chump
