You know, the more I think about it, the more I’m in favor of how things went down last night.

Im sure it’s been discussed but looking back it wasn’t stupid at all. It might not have been text book but the guy showed all his smarts in doing what he did. There was just that bit too much time to kick it out and the dogs would more than likely have formed the scrum, stopped the clock and had one, possibly 2 plays to level the game. He took all those possibilities out of it, took control and made certain of the result.

As as I said, may not have been conventional but it sure was effective.

It only looked stupid but was far from it.

As its been said on this forum Sam W did the smartest thing to close the game out.
If he took any other option - touchfinder , or missing a field goal, Bulldogs get the ball back automatically under the new rules ,and they would have been madly racing it up to the start point, like I see every game.
Bulldogs opportunity to win the game if Sam plays it "within the spirit of the game" , or "the Roosters way"
The problem is not with Sm W - its with Abdo & V'Landys and their idiotic decisions to change the rules.
If grubbering the ball over the sideline results in a scrum, and the clock winds down, then the play we saw doesn't come into contention.
But NOW it does.
So those commentators who think its weak, unsportsmanlike, un -Roosters, not a good look, soft - go fark yourselves.
BTW - Luke Keary laughing after the incident says it all.
I bet you Luke is thinking he's so young, creative, smart and unpredictable - my perfect partner for next season..

The "Roosters Way" is ok, up to a point....then it sees us get taken advantage of.
Stupidity would've been for Walker to risk the Dogs getting the ball and scoring a try...when there was an alternative.
I love what he did.
I cheered him on every inch of his run...as I realised what he was doing.
