    Inglis could bob up anywhere.
Carney will just stand in front of him and knock him over.

Why not in round 5? , from the bench...let us win 4 games first.

Or if we lose the first three then play him.

If Inglis and Merritt were fit, than why would Maguire list Talanoa and Mc Queen on the bench in a 19 man squad and name Farrell at fullback.

In response to "cARNEY, ONE OF THE WORST PLAYERS TO EVER PLAY FOR US"...Can I remind you of Kurt Sherlock, Brad Tessman, Koppoorshitsus, Todd Byrne, feel free to add more !!
Lets face it, we have no depth in the backs this yr but good depth in the forwards...
I suggest we couner this by(when we have possession) never letting the ball get past Bwaif in the backine..actually, how is that different to what happens normally.... anyway, if we bring back the WALL, and the WEDGE, we will not need a backline !!

$ouff$ would be stupid to play a suspect Merritt & inglis. They would be targeted and risk longer injuries.
It's only the first game of the year, not a do or die for the finals.

Perhaps because they are racing the clock to be fit for the game which is on in 5 days, and they will be given every opportunity until then..???

Souths won't risk them this early and in particular if it's wet!

                        Reading the Play

                        Rabbits v Roosters

                        Homebush

Two sides looking to make major improvement in 2012, the Rabbits with a new head coach in Maguire. Roosters hold the recent advantage here having won 6 of the last 10 and the last 2 Round 1 clashes, but they have a poor record at the ground losing 7 of their last 8 here. Smith is backing himself this year with quality talented youth, from what I have seen of their trial play they have been keen to play an up tempo game speed with a lot of mobile forwards and then ball shifts to either edge (typical Smith patterns of play), if they control this well they’ve the mobility to move the big Rabbits forwards around and open them up. Rabbits have looked a work in progress through their trials, still adjusting to what Maguire wants, their handling and discipline through the first 30 against the Dragons was very ordinary. They’ve plenty of size up front, two quality mobile and damaging edge back rowers; and then class finishing with Inglis, King and Merritt; they’ve a rookie at 7 and will play without Luke (significant out). The Roosters have looked more advanced, settled and ready for this through recent weeks than their opponents who still look weeks away from doing what’s being asked of them, but trial form counts for zero now. Lean to the Roosters, another game where it will be good to analyse what they both offer. Roosters

Last Word: Looks even on paper, Roosters might have an edge with speed and discipline.

Don't forget that Souths have a new coach who is held in high regard by the players and they will be playing a finals style up tempo game to get their first win for Maguire. The Roosters young pack must maintain their intensity for the entire eighty minutes and meet Souths with equal aggression. And for the record, asotasi, burgess, Taylor, pettybourne and co are not exactly sloths, they are also a big and mobile pack. This will be a tough game and rest assured, Souths will not give away cheap possession nor cheap penalties, it won't be a repeat of the Charity Shield. I'm tipping a blood bath and the game won't be decided until the last 10 minutes but Roosters through their more experienced spine will get home by a nose.
