Pretend it’s all ok, and that Henry Peranara knows what he’s doing. Pretend that Melb, Penrith and Souths don’t get managed back into games when they are off the games. Pretend the flops don’t happen. Well, they do happen. There is an agenda. What Victor Radley served a 5 week suspension for, is now suddenly ok. How? Because it’s not all sunshine and roses. There is a dark side to the game. But we can overcome it, but it will also need a revolt against PVLoathful. He must go.

I normally don’t blame the refs after a game, especially when we win. When you watch the game back with a cooler head, you usually see what the refs have seen. We sail close to the wind, sometimes it doesn’t come off.

But not last night’s game. Sutton was beyond poor. It wasn’t until we had put the game beyond doubt that he started reffing both sides. Until then, he was thinking about LAST week’s game after all the media carry-on instead of this week’s game.

And that pass was NOT forward, which is why the touchie didn’t call it forward, being right in line with it and a metre away from Toups, unlike Sutton, who wasn’t even in the wide overhead shot when the pass was thrown. Him getting spiteful because Teddy kept questioning his authorita, and deciding to teach us a “lesson” instead of doing his effing job was unacceptable in a ref.

the refs are human and if the media go on about us deliberately giving away penalties and that we were lucky not to be binned (even though it's not usual to bin a player on the third infringement) then it's not surprising if they ref the game a bit differently. that said i didn't look at the verrills offsides too closely and i can't remember if sutton said he'd bin him after he'd done it twice or three times.
teddy's forward pass call was a bit odd given that the linesman had a better view. hard to argue that the pass was obviously forward.

Thought he was very poor tonight, over-ruling his touch judge on a forward pass is a first for mine. Can’t think of any other occasions where I’ve seen that, I’m sure it’s probably happened a couple of times but that surely can’t be NRL protocol.

You could tell Tedesco was having a real hard time talking to him all game.

Unfortunately he’s now developing a history of setting new precedents when officiating the Roosters.

Cooper Cronk didn’t miss with his comment at half time either, said Gerard Sutton was just “Marking his territory”. Not a great endorsement from an ex-player, refs who want to be characters it’s always dangerous.
