You need to bear in mind Sutton refs the top games. I read somewhere that 4 of our 10 losses were against Panthers, 2 against Storm, Souths, Eels, etc.
Having said that. I recall another game vs Panthers where JWH was sin binned. Then in the last few minutes of the game the Panthers committed a blatant professional foul and Sutton refused to sin bin.

That is so true. So many comments on social media saying we have benefitted from getting the refs calls for years. A lot of them have highlighted the 6 again call in the GF but they don't get it, that the original call was wrong and he changed it to the 'corect call'. I just shrug my shoulders and move on, no point arguing with idiots on facebook.

This Annesley robot feeds us these weekly lines that unfortunately the wrong decision was made in the heat of the moment, really sorry about that, and all these other empty platitudes.
For me, the solution is very simple... get rid of this obsession with speeding up the game and also telling us how much pressure the referees are under and finally do something about it once and for all ffs.
Try giving the bunker the ultimate power over 80- minutes, such as the ability to reverse bad calls since they aren't in this high pressure cooker that Annesley keeps hiding behind. Now I know the bunker is only as good as the muppet in there, that could do with an overhaul as well. I just cannot accept that hasty Verrills panic penalty ... when they took several minutes top penalise Crichton. So we are at the mercy of one guy under panic or pressure one minute but not the next. These referees are too involved, its almost like 3 teams on the field.

This glorification of Penrith is manipulation of money and power of the code in West Sydney. The league dosen't need much changed as far as rules go, just strict policing of the ruck to remove the Storm's wrestling tatics, (or holding up of the attacker) a blight on the game for the past 15 years.
Penrith are a bit of a cut price Storm in the same manner.
These guys know how to ref and ref well, plus the bunker to check for blades of grass and all that.
They orchestrate outcomes all with the help of their ambiguous 6 again rule, that sometimes just dosen't get applied to all teams. (Or heavily applied against some teams)
It happens in all games to some degree.
Can't see it changing anytime soon as VLandys just likes to double down on his agenda when pushed on it. Need to remove the current NRL hierachy if there's going to be change. Possibly certain referees as well.
I'd like to think that the Roosters and Politis are above board with all their dealings. Salary cap etc as I don't want an unfair advantage in the NRL other than an owner who is good at business (money for the club) a great coach (has a team firing) and perhaps a social demographic in lovely East Sydney to attract players rather than a freezing Canberra for example.

for anyone interested, roosters questions go from about the 16min mark to the 32min.
it’s interesting seeing the different angles and audio they have.
can’t argue with the Angus call at all, just a dumb play from a very highly paid player.Last edited by milanja; 07-05-2022, 02:46 PM.

They allowed a 4-play advantage before they pulled it up.
If that's allowed, why not do it for every incident that deserved a sin-bin?

Spot on. As Robbo said in the press conference, it's not rugby. If you're going to bin him, call time off and do it. Don't give them another 3 cracks at scoring a try and then decide to penalise him and sin bin him
