As a long term supporter you can just feel the excitement of something brewing on the recruitment front..

I feel the same. I haven’t been overly impressed by Tapine in recent seasons but the past couple games he has been in beast mode. Would be a great pick up if he can play to his potential.

Tapine had his best season last year, he was tremendous. Doesn’t get the wraps he deserves because he’s just so well rounded and plays in a side who don’t always fully utilise all of his skills.

I don’t see him leaving Canberra thought, he’s contracted until the end of 2023 and Ricky Stuart rates him very highly. I know they went through a bit of a rough patch earlier this year but they seem to have well and truly moved on from that.

Tapine would be an upgrade on Liu but I just don’t see it happening.

Losing SST and Liu in one off-season isn’t ideal, however there is a positive. More game time for Baker and Egan Butcher who IMO have looked pretty good since they’ve come into first grade. Plus Atoni who’s coming.

Baker and Egan Butch are yet to be signed up for 2022 and beyond. Hopefully that happens ASAP
