I honestly have no idea how it works because Suaalli, Morris, Friend etc aren't in the bubble do they count?

Are the Retirees still in our top 30?

At the start of the year it was a 30 man team with 6 development players. It seems that we now have some of those development guys in our top 30

Surely there's going to be exclusions allowed. The Warriors couldn't even name 21 players this week. We won't be far behind.

How messy must the salary cap get with players leaving one club & moving to another mid season with the club that the player left paying x amount & the new club paying x amount. Then there are development players & loan players. Clubs don’t know when a player is to be moved on because it happens so quick. It’s just not straight forward as fitting 30 into 9.1 mil. Some players get a pay rise from their original contract even though their original contract stipulates we’ll pay you this amount for 3 years. In the end all clubs are paying players at other clubs.

        It's not much money hey?
        - ~$9 mil
        - 30 players
        - 1 or 2 in each club (maybe more) are on $1m or thereabouts
        - Minimum salaries...etc

A solid player. Good defence and attack skills. Knows the club and a lot of the players already. And best of all, not a dickhead.m

Last day for him to sign and Drongos didn't use him last night. Is he coming or staying?

NRL went and basically announced it. What's the go?

Staggs out for rest of year ; so if Broncos did release Copley they would be regretting it now
There's a reason why the young and idealistic become the old and cynical.
                It's called experience.

The retired players are still counted in the allowable 30 player squad as there is no cap relief for them - Cords next 2 years if approved as he had 2 years to run on his contract (2022/23)- Not sure what happened to Cords rep cap relief money though - 350k

Chooks only had 28 players signed of the 30 allowable for 2021 with 2 spots to be filled and 4 development players

One of the 2 remaining spots was for set aside for TJ Perenara which didn't eventuated.

Of the original 28 players signed this was reduced to 23 as a result of 3 retirements (Cords/Friend/B Morris ) and 2 season ending injuries ( Keary/Collins)

As a result of these injuries/retirements the Chooks were allowed to use players from an extended squad - signed to second tier contracts i assume - not sure how this works in relation to the cap- previously for reggies sides there was a 500k cap and 250k for NYC

The Extended Squad is 4 players 2 of whom have been used in the NRL ( Benny Marschke / Jessie Marschke/Ben Thomas and Brad Abbey )

3 Development players are also now part of the Squad or players that can be used - Moala Graham-Taufa / Tuku Hau Tapuha / Naufahu Whyte

I am assuming that along with the 23 remaining players of the original 28 that the extended squad players (4) plus 3 of the development player ( MGT.Hau Tapuha/Whyte) may make up the 30 allowed player squad taken to QLD - Abbey in quarantine or out of it now?

The 30 player squad has now been further reduced to 26 players as a result of 4 more injuries ( J Morris/Ikuvalu/Smith/Suaalii )

indeed. you'd figure either the deal was done before that happened or it won't be done
