i'd like to think sam verrills is going to become pretty special and that he can play 80. still, brandon smith is brandon smith and if can get him here for 800k and he's happy to not always play dh then i'm all for it. should we still be interested if he only wants to play dh? glad i don't have to answer that.

I still say we should stick with Verrills. We do not need Smith, as good as he is, as he does not provide good value under the salary cap. He may provide good value for other clubs but not the Roosters. You can only fit so many big name signings under the cap and it’s simply not good cap management for us to sign him. We need to focus on extending Joey and Angus and upgrading the likes of Walker, E Butcher and Suaalii when their contracts are up.

The old days of hookers/halves being the smallest players in the team is on the decline.
Nowadays bigger players can play these positions with all the training they do in speed ,agility and stamina and will continue doing due to the increase speed of the game etc.
They only need be quick over 30 or so metres not 100 metres and with Bigger players playing these positions they wont be a target in defence.
You wont see players going overboard in bulking up in the gym- be leaner players going forwardLast edited by King Salvo; 08-06-2021, 08:34 PM.
