It's easier to look the goods when playing in the lower grades.

It's why I always lol when I see all the posts on how Smiff knows nothing cos he won't include 17 reserve graders every week, especially when the reserve grade side is as inconsistent as the 1st grade side.

It also highlights the reason we need a viable reserve grade, not the massive drop in standard we get now. It takes some players a few weeks to adjust to 1st grade especially those who aren't used to the change in class.

The Fish looked good to me last night. He would be a great catch . One of those players that knows how to get to the line and when he gets into space no one is going to catch him. To have someone in your team that you know is never going to get run down is a huge advantage. I would love to have him.

Bring back reserve grade. Toughen them up so it isn't such a big ask.

Watched Moga yesterday He went well I will take a guess and say he will spend a few more weeks in 20s befor e being called up to 1sts Another wild guess is 2 weeks if not he will debut at our next match at SFS aqgainst Newcastle One thing I ma sure of is he will play 1st grade this season

Another who myst be knocking on the door for a spot in 1sts is Kane Evans Although I feel it will be next year for him

I reckon we trained all off season with Moga and SKiD in the centers. Then the injuries happened and it set our attack back. We are only now seeing it get back to 1st grade standard. All this so called lack of game plan shit is just that, shit. Too many posters on this site look for blame instead of realistically looking at the reasons why.

The point is throwing SKid back in underdone is sweet, he's a seasoned 1st grader, he knows what's required. But Mogas a baby, throwing him in when he's neither 100% physically or mentally ready could set him back a season, even destroy his confidence for good.

As for that Fish kid, geez he's a lump and has some toe. Would look great in the RWB IMO. Still I reckon they missed Locke, positionally and getting involved in the game especially, just highlights you can't beat expierence.

A structure/game plan can still be implemented with different cattle on the park. It might be a different one, sure, but it still exists. We played the first four rounds with no game plan to speak of, and that is what has been hurting us.

I think the game plan was to play it up the middle Whether it worked or not is debatable 2 out of 4 suggests It wasnt to bad Actually the signs were there against Melbourne that we were going to strt shifting the ball

Good thing he has looked the goods in first grade. But yes, I agree with your points about a reserve grade competition.

I agree with these points. Moga is not playing at the standard he was last year just yet. Needs some game time in the 20's. Evans is just too good for 20's now. Give him a run in first grade for a few weeks and then send him to Newtown for the rest of the year. That first grade experience will keep him hungry.

The fact that we were averaging 12 points a game tells me we had no gameplan whatsoever, especially inside the opposition twenty.

Dummy half runs and hit ups do not constitute a gameplan, these are the cornerstones of rugby league, it would be like saying a soccer team's gameplan is to pass the ball. No shit.

I think you and Walker are smart enough to see that our two wins should really have been one. I loved the victory over Souffs but anyone can see we were bloody lucky, if it wasn't Souffs we wouldn't have gotten close.

Last night we still had dummy half runs and hit ups. This isn't the gameplan, this is what players do when playing league. But on top of these foundation blocks we had a real structure and gameplan, Pearce throwing balls at the line both out the back to Mini or flat to MAubs, grubber kicks and higher percentage offloads. It wasn't just dummy half run, hit up, bomb it and hope they drop it, as it was in the first few weeks.
