I loved him at the time

They totally ignored his coaching career between us and Canberra. Actually, so did he.

If you want to speak about journalists, let’s talk of the Crawley brothers and their old central coast mate, Paul Kent. How they give Ricky the ride he enjoys to not only keep his job but receive a tv special about how great he is. Hardly fair and balanced.

Ever since the Michael Jordan doco and espn 30 for 30, networks have been trying to manufacture content to satisfy their subscription services. It doesn’t work when you only tell half the story.
I've actually followed Ricky's coaching career pretty closely. I played Rugby against him in Canberra as a kid. The documentary "worked" fine for me. Sorry it didn't "work" for you.

He was their most important signing in Supre League. They have long memories. Any ARL person still gets pummeled and any SL person still gets fluffed. Whenever Crawley speaks about Bennett he has tears in his eyes.

I was 7 & 8 when Easts won the comps in 74 & 75 & it was great especially for my dad & pop but at 7 & 8 the excitement doesnt stay long but take it 27 years in the future to 2002 & watch the Roosters bring it on home with Ricky as the coach in his first season is probably the biggest high that I have experienced following the Chooks. It was so good to watch them win the comp as an adult. Ricky will always be a CHAMPION to me. Robbo has passed him but those 3 years in the GF's following the best team in the game was bliss. Sticky brought spirit to the club then it went then the best ever Roosters coach brought it back like no one before & has instilled it for 8 years. The man Robbo is the best thing that ever happened to the Roosters. Robbo is the Roosters & I love him.
Very good. Love the last part

His coaching record is abysmal and yet he has been one of the highest paid coaches for 20 years. Great effort by him actually.

I’ve noticed Ricky has changed in his press conferences ever since when he blatantly cheated and sent the 18th man on. He has the look of his game is finally up. “They’ve got me. Oh well, I’ve had a good run. I’ll get my coat.”

He's going nowhere. He has that club totally wrapped around his finger. Would have to miss the finals a few years in a row to be under threat.

Don't forget his mates in the media will never bag him so there will be no pressure on Canberra management.
