A lot has been said about our young forward pack for this season, but not a lot of talk has been about Jake Friend...

I think he is in for a massive season.

He loves everything Roosters...

I am hoping he will come out of this season as a top 3 hooker in the game, maybe even the best...

He will be responsible for driving this young pack around the field and I am very excited about it...

Yep totally agree. Jake is acknowledged by all as a hard worker but I don't think he gets a lot of credit for the other attributes of his game. He shone last year in a shit team. Can't wait to see him develop this year.

He will never be the flashiest player going around, but will always be solid, and reliable.

I don't think he will be of the standard of Cameron Smith or Robbie Farah (sometimes) but anyone with that much heart and passion for his footy and the club is always going to be welcome to be part of my club.

He could be better than all those names listed above. None of them were the best hookers in the game when they were only 22..

I've seen Ennis do things on a footy field that Friend could never do. Ennis is an instinct player, someone who can make something out of nothing, Friend is just tradesman like.

Jake has never been one who's fond of the limelight. And being in it for the wrong reasons more than once hasn't helped that.

He is player for whom actions speak louder than words. He's not one to talk himself up and then disappiont. We need more like him.
