cheeky friendy, at the moment my favourite player in the team. most consistent, tough as nails. and (hope I'm not speakin to soon) but one of the ones that woke up to himself after given a second chance with the club..
future qld hooker in my opinion.
    Is that the full story,
    or is your news limited?

      yep.
I'll take a team of Jake's over a team of superstars, thanks.
May not win it, but a team to be proud of.

Jake Friend will be the next QLD State of Origin hooker.

Pearce is the NSW halfback so saying Friend will be the next QLD hooker is not saying much.

Nothing like a positive approach with LOADS of optimism, eh?

Jake Friend - 22 years old...

He could be better than all those names listed above. None of them were the best hookers in the game when they were only 22..
I think Buderus might turn out to be a massive disappointment for the Newcs, very off the pace last night, almost reminded me of Riddell trying to keep up when he returned. Farrar I rate less & less as time goes by, Ennis is the niggle king without a whole lot to back it up & Smith is the best hooker in the world, I reckon Jakey's name will sit comfortably amongst this lot in years to come, I said a couple of years ago that he reminds me of Elwyn Walters & my opinion has not changed.

                        grub is correct for innis

if jake didnt wear himself out thru defence he will get alot more attck. need a good hard hitting centre to pick up jakes scraps.

I think that this years pack will go a long way to easing what Jake has had to do in defense these past couple of years.
The pack needs to assert its authority early on. This will free Jake up a tad more to chime in to the attack.
                          Rip it up, Jake.

I have no doubt that Ennis can be a much better hooker than Ennis.

What would really help Friend and the team as a whole is if we can get our fair share of possession in games if not even more. It seems to me like we get around 45% possession each game due to our handling errors and conceding more penalties which results in us having to make more tackles and reducing our petrol for attack.

If we can play smart by making fewer handling errors, give away less penalties and gain more repeat sets by forcing goal line drop outs, then we should see over 50% possession which will allow Friend and everyone else to make less tackles and be fresher for attack.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                                Here's looking at you, kid.
