  • Connor Watson linked to a return to the Roosters next season

Source: News Corp and Clarkeys NRL Column

Where does he fit into the side ? Is he worth the return ?

I think with Adam Keighran and Drew Hutchinson, the Roosters are ok in regards to utility options so I just don't see the point.

Perhaps it's his manager trying to bump up his market value.

    Thoughts ?

The Daily Telegraph and News Corp are reporting that Watson is poised to split with the Knights and has been linked to a return to us from 2022 onwards.

I reckon this is awesome if true, Watson really suits the new rules and is a real X-Factor.

    Thoughts lads?

He was ringing clubs himself as apparently was not a happy chappy with the Knight offer - testing the market - not sure of the Chook interest but Tiger , Shark and Eel are interested

If thats true it would be the end of Lam? I like watson but im not really excited by the signing at all. Trust in Trent I guess.

I always liked Watson great intensity can play almost anywhere, we don't have a player like him but in saying that I wouldn't pay top dollar to get him

Not sure about this as the reason he left the Chook in the first place was that he wanted to be a starter and play 80 minutes which he didn't think he could do with the Chook

Didn't he sign with the knights for over 500k plus? Way over his worth. Sounds like his manager is trying to pump up his value and his commission lol. Like him as a utility player but not worth big money. Tigers are experts at paying overs.

The game has moved on since then. This talk about Brandon Smith is not to replace Verrills or Radley. It is to play those roles at a higher intensity by sharing with Brandon Smith. Watson could play a similar role but I would obviously still prefer the Cheese.

IMO Watson is a quality player and would be one of the better 14's in the comp in our side. It would be a yes from me

If we don’t get Smith I like Watson as a lock option

would rotate nicely with Rads and give a different attack option

He's a big unit now isn't he? Bulked up big time and can play in the forwards. I'd take him.

He's been pretty good for the Knights this season. Would have been handy for us this season.

                          I think he's a better no.14 than Lam.
