You're saying that penalty counts aren't an indicator for success, which isn't the argument anyway. The argument is whether the Roosters have a significant penalty differential disparity over the last decade or so, and what the cause is of that. Our success as a club during that time is irrelevant to the discussion, and is a form of moving the goalposts.

Strange that our best penalty differential was in 2016. I guess that year we just decided not to give away deliberate penalties or something.

Another fact is that this has been basically consistent since 2000 or so. Over two decades of it. It deserves significant thought put into it.

You are a very patient man.

I read an article about flat-earthers and anti-vaxers which highlighted that there are a large proportion of them that will not alter their opinion no matter what evidence is put in front of them.

          Pauper Salvo hates the Roosters.
While we were playing and getting robbed against the Panthers, he was watching Richmond in the AFL instead

Benny C's BFF Chook had their chances but lacked the execution and patience as Robbo explained

              Oh, we're from Tiger land,
A fighting fury, we're from Tiger land,
In any weather you will see us with a grin,
              Risking head and shin,
If we're behind then never mind,
We'll fight and fight and win.

              For we're from Tiger land,
We'll never weaken 'til the final siren's gone.
              Like the Tigers of old,
              We're strong and we're bold.
For we're from Tiger (yellow and black),
              For we're from Tiger land!

As Spock often said "that is highly illogical" what people are posting - if you lose the majority of penalty counts and lose the majority of games there's a possible correlation and connection between the two subject to other factors that is - lose the majority of penalties and win the majority of games- no correlation at all - independent of each other and no mutual relationship.

I'm at a loss to fathom the view of conspiracy theorists on this matter - it's like Henny Penny the Sky is Falling

Beam the Conspiracy Theorists up Mr Scott to anywhere pleassssssssssssssssssssssssssse

if people were explaining our statistically unlikely performance in penalty counts by a conspiracy then that would be very hard to prove and probably wrong but most of the talk here has been about unconscious bias.

Exactly ..i was going to say the same thing. I can remember Fittler 4 or 5 years back saying the same thing abotu inherit bias against Easts but going back to his days as our coach ...when we just never got the penalty counts. So these damming stats from Buzz that go back to 2013 in fact go back several years before which would make these stats even more horrendous !

He was just referring to stats that go back another decade or so. Brian Smith was on the favourable end of the stats until he arrived at the Roosters. So it is not purely about Robbo's game tactics.

Spock was a stand up guy. You are a disillusioned mummy's boy. Don't compare the two.

                              • In recent years we haven't had an influential captain when it comes to the refs. Freddy wasn't bad, but neither Friend or Cordner seemed to be able to string a sentence together much less make a calm case in the heat of the battle.

Teddy doesn't seem that great at it either.

                                Keary always seems too emotional.

Verrils might have it in him...

                                Who knows?
