I don't think there is corruption BUT as far as implicit bias...? That could be. If you watched NRL360 early this week you would have seen Paul Kent tell a story about a discussion he had with Bill Harrigan and Harrigan said to him that the refs should have a cheat sheet on players who have a problem with onfield discipline, in which Paul Kent responded to him by saying that that was wrong because it could be implied that it would create unconscious bias against a player. Now if the referee with the highest profile in the game ever can come up with such an idea, who's to say that there isn't some form of cheat sheet, notes or even chatter amongst the referees?

They sit around a room and discuss the different habits and idiosyncrasies of players.
While it is fantastic they are doing their homework, it could also lead to suggestions they are going into games each week with preconceived ideas.
For example, if say five Roosters players have been spoken about during “around the grounds’’ and only two Storm players, does that mean the Roosters will be watched more closely than the Storm?"

Conveniently, the article is also about unfair penalty counts against the Roosters and serves to highlight why this perpetual bias against us exists. The referees already know what they're going to call before we even take the field
