Very disappointed in Manu last night. How is he more involved playing wing than centre. Barely sighted last night when our attack was sputtering

when he plays centre, he's obviously been told to hold his position otherwise theres no link to the winger, it also didnt help our halves were a bit shit last night so he got no clean ball.

when he plays wing he plays a second full back role rolling out the back.

most likely decisions made by robbo in terms of ball playing. would love to see him get the ball more.

that being said our first try came on the back of a dominant run towards the line from him, he was quieter than usual but still decent.

It’s no secret, Manu is a better player on the wing and fullback.

This is the problem with being a "2nd fullback" you are dependant on your team being on the front foot so you can come in and take runs. We were pretty much rucking it out of our own half all game and when we were in good field position we were playing way too much sideways footy. The game just was not setup for Manu to come in field and contribute.

Having seen both Anasta and Manu play their entire careers I can say I've seen more brilliance from Manu at 5/8 in a couple of games he has played there than I did from Anasta, who will go down as one of the worst fullbacks we have ever put in the no1 jersey.

Next year, we can run Smith and Sualli in the centre’s with Manu on the wing.

It was just one of those games where we all had a bit of a rough day at the office. I don't wanna make excuses (we all shoulda played better and I'm sure Robbo expected better).

But... it was ours to lose and Drongos showed up (in front of a large home crowd at their home stadium) with a combo of:
- Nothing to lose, everything to gain by upsetting us.
- Solid efforts from forwards.
- Wildcard playmakers who will literally go nowhere (although Milf must be sitting on $$$ as he always gets $1m+ a year contracts) but can occasionally disrupt the party of better teams when they decide to play (once every 3-4 seasons & this was their day to shine).
- No calls being made against them for scrappy stuff like intentionally lying on attacking players and obstructing them (the final penalty was a classic example of 'pick one of 3 and call it against them FFS!!!' ref chose not to but FORTUNATELY the ref ruled that we knocked-on, so we were allowed to challenge that rather than the lack of any other calls in the lead-up). In aggregate when you're allowed to get away with that every time we've got a decent roll of the dice, you spoil our attack. IMO this is one of the biggest differences, and why they'll get absolutely murdered when they play against the other top-8 teams...

Freddy was cooked at that point. I’m pretty sure he played Mini at 6 that season as well.
