At least it is an alternative to the mainstream crap being pumped out by our media about how we all need to get vaccinated for the betterment of society.
The government has done a tremendous job in keeping us safe from Covid.
They let a limo driver mix freely with pilots from overseas , and we all knew the only way for the virus to come in to this country , was from an overseas source.
So instead of the limo driver being decked out in a deep sea diving suit/ or radiation suit / or equivalent protective outfit, and having a glass partition between him and his passengers, they let the pilots breathe all over him , then let the limo driver mix with the rest of Australian society.
In football terms , that is the equivalent of having the most dangerous player in the league (Tommy Turbo) playing against you , and you call up a 19 year old player from Jersey flegg to mark him, and what's worse, during the game , you let Turbo get one-on -one with your rookie.
The result is predictable.
Government F#ck up no 1- Gladys should have been hung , drawn and quartered for the limo driver debacle- she has destroyed the NSW economy , cost multi billions in economic chaos, and bought people's lives to a standstill. Where's the fallout ? Who is to blame? Why don't the media ask questions/ want answers? Is there a cover up in place? Don't we want to ask the hard questions? Should we demand that Gladys resign? Is she incompetent ? Would the Roosters coach be incompetent, if he let the Rookie line up against Turbo, and Turbo ran amok?
Government F#ck up no 2- the next best fix on the current mess is to get everyone vaccinated. Spuik on about it being the only way out of lockdown. Suppress the media about making any noise about the downside of the covid vaccine, or the alternative views. If the newspapers , TV stations or journalists make any noise about the side effects of the vaccine, we will revoke their licences immediately, because its not in the common interest of the people. Brainwash the dumb Australian people into thinking this is the only way out, and we need to get on with our agenda in a hurry, save the public purse (money is God, remember) save the public servant jobs, and save this country from bankruptcy. And while we are at it , to hell with the detrimental effects of the vaccine - we will gloss over that - besides, no one even knows what the long term effects are ,and there has been insufficient testing anyway. Let that sort itself out in years to come. If we were wrong, we will give everyone a verbal apology in the future years - no need worry about it now.

I am concerned that WHO advice on the potential side effects of the COVID vaccines has been misrepresented by some posts in this thread. For the record, here is the official WHO advice:

1359 Covid deaths in the USA last 24 hrs....and the August daily trend of what states have the highest death toll numbers continues.....
The top 8 in order:

Florida 464
North & South Carolina 172
Georgia 65
Tennessee 61
Texas 59
Louisiana 59

Illinois 52

Thats 988 of the 1359 deaths in just those 8 states.

Now it just may be a co-incidence but none of those states are in the US top 20 highest percentage of citizens who are currently fully vaccinated.

It may also be a co incidence that 7 out of the 8 states are in the the bottom 20 percentage of who are currently fully vaccinated.

The UK (who have approx 20% of the US population) have fully opened the economy & have lifted most restrictions. They have approx 75% of the population doubled dosed and 90% with one dose. In the last 24 hrs they recorded 40 deaths.

Now there are smarter people in here than me that can interpret these figures ....& im sure they will!

However going by some of the strong opinions in here, the United Kingdom are headed towards a massive disaster, as are most of the metropolitan states in the USA.....and the only ones who are awake to the alleged sinister side of the vaccine are the southern states.I guess its possible that the slack jawed yokels may have it all worked out. Anything is possible.....even losing 10 first graders for the season & making the semi finals! Never say never

In April 2020 one of my uncles in Spain died of COVID. He was 65 and in reasonable health.

Last month another uncle and my aunty got COVID, both in their early 80s. My uncle has diabetes, is overweight and has a history of heart problems. They were both vaccinated and both survived.

You're right, of course. Correlation does not equal causation. Even so, if you look closely at the detailed information of reported side effects in this research database, they are overwhelmingly minor, transient conditions. They look scary because medical terminology is used for things like dizziness, minor and temporary heart palpitations, upset tummies, muscular soreness, fever etc - all the things we know are normal vaccine side effects. This is why, despite the poster citing WHO data as part of his argument, WHO itself has made it quite clear that the vaccines are safe.

(Note that the figures in the database include reported side effects for all vaccines not just Pfizer. So the much publicised AZ side effects are there too. As we all know, the odds of getting these serious side effects are extremely small but this has deterred some people from getting the AZ jab and fair enough. They can get Pfizer and avoid this miniscule risk.)
