Not his decision to make but I suspect govt has already made this decision for him. No membership of any sort for me and no purchasing of any Roosters merchandise. Not one cent of my finances will be spent on any sort of support for the club. Of course some will say that means nothing and that is probably true, but then there are others who urge supporters to support the club financially as it ALL helps.
I hardly go to games anyway, even if I did go to all games. I certainly would not or do not base my life decisions on whether or not it means I can go to a Roosters game. In short I could not give a flying fcuk if I go to games and have felt that way for some time before this. Year by year my number of games attended has waned. 1 game this year two last year 4 in 2019 4 in 2018 4 in 2017 2 in 2016.
Im sure the Roosters are thankfull you for all your support. Even if you don’t care for them, it’s good to see they are showing care for you.
In fact thinking about this I think it could be a good thing. Whilst you lot are all mingling out there at the footy still passing on your disease to one another Those not vaccinated who cannot attend such venues cannot be blamed for spreading it. Mind you im sure most will still try to blame others not in attendance of such venues for this
good to see you are finally getting the message ol chum. Stay at home. Don’t rebel against it.
I assume every time you have a booster your vaccine certificate ( passport ) would be updated.
I'm just not sure I want a booster shot every 6-9 months for the rest of my life.
Delta, although highly infectious, is not very dangerous so after I have Pfizer when I'm eligible here Qld I'll happily take my chances with natural immunity after that; coupled with a healthy lifestyle and diet, including Vitamn C. And of course copious amounts of Vitamin D with all the sunshine up here!
I do wonder of the people who are adamant that everyone must be vaccinated and receive a bi annual booster, how many of them are chain smokers and/or stuff their faces with the most ghastly fast food on a daily basis? Both of which are far more likely to lead to their demise than Delta.
Anyway, 'tis a slippery slope as I said and far murkier than some would like to admit.
I'm vaccinated, however I do not see the point of a vax passport when the evidence is mounting that the vax do not stop transmission of the current delta strain! You are just as likely to pass it on vaxed or unvaxed!
But I'll leave it to others to argue this. (this is main stream news not conspiracy ON or Fox)
I just find it an incredibly slippery slope coercing people into a shot by ostracization and division. We have enough division in our world as it is!
Should people get the shot, absolutely! We don't want our hospitals and staff clogged up with these people.
But then again, should people also have a passport to say they don't smoke, drink, do drugs or eat rubbish? They are clogging up the hospital quite a bit also!
This is one debate where I have seen many scientist from all backgrounds (progressive/conservative etc) come out with concerns about the current standard approach to COVID and the long term safety of THESE new vaccines.
I chose to have AZ as it was based on a more traditional approach to vaccines rather than the new mRNA vax!
The main purpose of the vaccine isn't to "stop" transmission, it does still limit it though. Those who are vaccinated have significantly greater protection from severe illness, the primary goal is to keep people out of hospital and stop them from dying.
Despite the narrative put forward by anti-vaxxers and COVID zero merchants, this is what is happening overseas. We won't be immune to it, many will still catch COVID and a few will sadly die. But hospitals won't be overrun and the death rate will be significantly reduce... you only need to compare the death tolls from the Victoria outbreak in 2020 and NSW's outbreak to see the impact of vaccines.
Uncle Nick is showing far more leadership than our PM and I applaud it.
LOL I dont delude myself thinking that I am missed now. Like I said though, maybe its a good idea. You lot can go out to games mingle and share your disease amongst yourself and will be unable to blame the unvaccinated for this. Although I am sure you will try. Those unvaccinated who cannot go will be tucked up at home safe and sound from the spread. Doesnt stop you getting it doesnt stop you transmitting it.
But how you going to go and get your coffee and go to the gym, the beach, touch footy etc?

Then the question has to asked why ban unvaccinated from sports stadiums ? They are no more a threat to you or anyone else than the vaccinated. What is the real motivation behind this ?
When you trust your television
what you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want

I'd say we'll eventually get to the stage where there's no pandemic, 99% of the world are already vaccinated and enough people have voluntarily chosen to get boosters that COVID's no longer a serious issue.
We're not there at the moment, but I think the widespread voluntary compliance will lead to commonsense outcomes.

Not to be dismissive but it's the old argument that anti-vaxxers always roll out when banned from entering hospitals and childcare facilities.
My understanding is that it's all about the aggregate numbers. No vaccine is 100% effective but they are (for example) 70% effective and when 100% of people in an environment are vaccinated with a 70% effective vaccine then you wipe-out the illness. But... when 50% of people are vaccinated with a 70% effective vaccine then you don't. Being vaccinated isn't an impenetrable forcefield for individuals... they're for the protection of the community at large when everybody has one. I think this is why epidemiologists do a lot of work on pandemics...etc, coz it's about the high-level impact on epidemiology rather than creating a forcefield around individuals.
I think it makes perfect sense that large gatherings and places with vulnerable people require people to be vaccinated. As noted... as a result of voluntary compliance, large gatherings will eventually become a non-issue. If people kick and scream then go figure...

This is extremely misleading. It is true that if you are vaccinated and reach the infectious stage, you can pass on the virus, even possibly at similar levels to unvaccinated people. The catch is that vaccinated people are shown to be far less likely to become infectious.
