I think most venues that have security will bring in vaccine passport requirements, I understand it's a personal choice but it will become so restrictive for non vaccers in terms of them gaining employment and having a social life and travel.
This insidious virus isn't going away and even those vaccinated I believe will catch it over the next 5 years or so, thanks to China it's the gift that will keep on giving.

Delta, although highly infectious, is not very dangerous so after I have Pfizer when I'm eligible here Qld I'll happily take my chances with natural immunity after that; coupled with a healthy lifestyle and diet, including Vitamn C. And of course copious amounts of Vitamin D with all the sunshine up here!

I do wonder of the people who are adamant that everyone must be vaccinated and receive a bi annual booster, how many of them are chain smokers and/or stuff their faces with the most ghastly fast food on a daily basis? Both of which are far more likely to lead to their demise than Delta.

I would imagine at some time in the future we will get to a stage where you wont require a booster or say something like a booster every 3 or 5 years or so but i think for the next couple of years there will be booster shots at least annualy if not 6-9 months,

And even then, the article is talking about viral load in vaccine breakthrough infections, which occur at the rate of approx 107 per million based on CDC data.

if people are fully vaccinated the main thing they have to fear from getting the virus is passing it onto someone who isn't and/or and being told to quarantine for two weeks but the move by the club is good cos it might encourage more to get the jab. presumably employers, clubs, pubs etc will follow suit.

Obesity is apparently the number 1 co morbidity of those who die with covid 19 and the keeping or get fit should have been the number 1 message all along from government and health experts yet it still goes unsaid. Makes you wonder whether kick backs from vaccine companies are in the mix?

I'd say we'll eventually get to the stage where there's no pandemic, 99% of the world are already vaccinated and enough people have voluntarily chosen to get boosters that COVID's no longer a serious issue.

We're not there at the moment, but I think the widespread voluntary compliance will lead to commonsense outcomes.

Cant see the world getting to 99% vaxxed but i can see it getting to a big enough proportion of people vaxxed population wise for this to happen.

You can include me all you like, Paddy Boy. I don't watch that shite and likely detest Murdoch and his cronies just as much as you. They are the chief proponents of anti climate change propaganda, which is a million times a greater threat to humans than Covid.

On Covid, I don't believe I've said anything extreme; alas that's how you tend to be lumped if you don't blindly tow the line.

What part about being in favour of living a healthy lifestyle as forming the basis of the best long term defence against Covid is controversial?

And do you deny that Vitamin C, D and supplements such as Zinc are also valuable remedies to protect one against the severe symptoms of Covid?

I also believe we need to question the end game for boosters. I think it's clear that Covid is here to stay and most of us are likely to get it. It's also clear that Delta is less dangerous; little more so than the common flu. So if we have the vaccine, and then get Delta as is likely, do we still get boosters? Because ultimately the vaccine + natural immunity (in that order) is the best defence.

I just wouldn't be blindly giving the government free reign to make up edicts that you must follow when they get it wrong so often. They struggle to even mention the fact that this is highly likely a man-made Coronavirus that originated from a US co-funded laboratory which seems kind of important.

I work with some folk who have relo's that reside in Germany - they have had their 2 vaccinations and will be having booster shots starting in September.

Yes some in the UK who have vaccinated early on this year or Decemeber and downloaded The App there are now being told there booster shot is due in September Make no mistake everyone will be expected to receive regular booster shots If not you will more than likely be treated the same way as someone who has not had a single shot.

Problem is I would think the more this happens the less percentage of people will take this up. Creating real problems. How to fix that would be bring in new variants along with more potential lockdowns along with threats to your jobs to coerce people to take these shots.
