So I guess this does not need to go to court. Just lock em both up and throw away the key? Some people are as bad as all the media you bag. I am not saying they are innocent but for christ sake wait till they get a bloody hearing.

John I normally always take the same view you have just said but at what point do you ask - are they that stupid ? At the point in time when they started throwing punches did they think they would be anything less that crucified by the media.

What worries me is at what point do companies like Samsung ask themselves why they give us large amounts of money...

People with drag out the old line about players being targeted......who would recognize Earl and Friend ?

It's not about being innocent or the circumstance it's about being stupid IMO

Were you there? I would like the people that were there, that frequent this forum to us all about it. No offence mate but I get so pissed off with people that crucify others without any knowledge of what actually happened.

I am not saying that they not stupid but if you weren't there then you don't know what happened. Maybe they were provoked. Happens all the time. Benji Marshall has said that he thought of going to the UK because of all the heroes that wanted to take him on.

I also reckon those that say Friend has a drinking problem is a bit bloody harsh as well. Shit at 19 I was off my nut most weekends and my weekends normally started on a Thursday arvo. They are in the limelight - so? They get paid a shit load of money - so? They are expected to be role models - to who? If the papers didn't jump on every little issue then these blokes might be able to live their lives.

If they have broken the law, then the courts will deal with them. If they have broken the clubs rules, then the club will deal with them. Meanwhile before all that happens, we read what is written in the media and we have all the facts we need to make up our minds.

It is a sad reflection of how things are done these days and before we go on about the media, we are now products of the exact thing we bitch about.

        Again, no offence BG

both earl and Friend should be afforded the same practices employed by the NRL and clubs on previous instances.

Stewart suspended for 4 weeks only to return to play for manly after sexually assulting a 16 yr old girl.
Whatmough not suspended or repremanded after attacking a sponsors daughter.
Cherrington not being dropped or sacked after being found guilty of assulting his girlfriend
Gallen receiving no punishment despite being involved in the NZ incident and racially villifying an opposition player.

In the end, the boys got invilved in a fight for acting stupid and throwing ice. A woman was hurt but from reports was not physically confronted or purposfully attacked by one of the players.

Need i remind people of Nate Myles, if we can all recall, within 3-4 months of joining the roosters, Myles was on the precipice of having his contract torn up due to alcohol related incidents, one of which caused sleeve sponsor Mortgage house to reneg on their deal.

I am sure the club could have tossed myles to the scrap heap and torn up his contract, but they did not, we now have myles as a leader at the club.

Will they allow Friend and Earl the same grace. I think they should

None taken John but I think you missed my point

I wasn't there and neither was anyone who is likely to read the story about three Roosters Players in a fight where a woman gets a punch in the head......

Is if fair.....no, should they be under the microscope...no, Should their lives be scrutinized like they are.........no, but guess what they are and they know it.

I am just getting fed up with OUR players being involved all the time and i think it;s fair to question a player who is in the middle of it again

How many players from the Dogs, Dragons and Titans have been in the headlines this year??? We have had, Mason, Cherro, Friend, Freddy, Myles and then Friend and Earl

I forgot about Myles. But the Cherro one for me is the precident here. If he was tossed then nor should the others. Except Friend has now 2 strikes.

me thinks david Morrow should stick to commentating and stay away from mathematical equations.

RUGBY league was back in the gallows last night as three Roosters stars faced police over yet another incident concerning alleged violence against women.
Just four days before their clash against first-placed St George Illawarra on Friday night, Mitchell Pearce, Jake Friend and Sandor Earl were rushed from training to be interrogated at The Rocks police station in relation to a weekend brawl that left a female with facial bruising.

After being questioned for more than an hour, Friend and Earl, both 19, were hit with a total of three assault charges, while Pearce, 20, was released without charge prior to his teammates.

Refused entry: Sonny and his boys barred

Police allege that Friend and Earl threw haymakers in a wild brawl at city bar Tank Nightclub, which resulted in the niece of ABC radio identity David Morrow being punched in the head.

A furious Morrow last night said his 31-year-old niece, Kristy Bradley, suffered bruising from her "ear to lower neck" after being struck.

The respected commentator was livid at Roosters coach Brad Fittler for initially defending the players and slammed their lack of concern for the female victim.

See the pics: Four charged over under 20s brawl

"The thing that has left us most upset is that a woman was injured and no one showed any concern for her welfare," Morrow said.

"At the end of the day a woman got hurt. Regardless of how it happened, it wasn't good enough for the Roosters' coach Brad Fittler to come out and defend his players based solely on their word."

Ironically, Bradley also happens to be a "massive Roosters" fan.

Should the Roosters sack Jake Friend? Vote in our poll.

She moved on to Tank after celebrating the 21st birthday of Morrow's daughter, Emily, in a private room at Easts Leagues Club earlier in the evening.

The party of 10 that kicked on also included former Manly and Tigers centre Nick Bradley, who was allegedly involved in the initial altercation with the Roosters players.

It has been alleged that Bradley, 29, approached the players after his group was repeatedly struck by ice.

The brawl swiftly ensued from there, with Bradley sustaining back soreness and a graze to his chin.

Both he and cousin Kristy were treated at the scene by paramedics, called by the club's manager.

Police also attended the scene after the brawlers were removed from the premises.

"Kristy has loved the Roosters all her life - and so does Emily," Morrow said. "A lot of people at the party were big Roosters fans, hence why they had the party at Easts Leagues.

"But I'd now say the club has lost around 10 supporters - probably 10 percent of its fan base."
if he was so concerened with his neice's well being, he would have kept the interview serious and not taken pot shots at our supporter base.

Also, it is hard to be concerned with someone who is injured when you are being lead away by security.

                        Roosters stand by their men:

Roosters to stand by their men
                        Brad Walter | June 30, 2009

THE Sydney Roosters are expected to stand by two players charged yesterday over a nightclub brawl in which the niece of ABC commentator David Morrow was punched, while Manly officials await a report into the involvement of star rookie Kieran Foran.

Hooker Jake Friend and five-eighth Sandor Earl, who made his debut in last Saturday night's 19-12 defeat of the Sharks, were bailed to appear at the Downing Centre on July 20 after attending The Rocks Police Station for formal interviews along with teammate Mitchell Pearce. The pair, both 19, were later arrested.

Earl was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while Friend was charged with assault.

The Herald understands both plan to defend the charges, which followed a fight at The Tank nightclub about 3am on Sunday in which Morrow's 31-year-old niece, Kristy Bradley, was knocked to the ground and sustained concussion, bruising to her face and pain to her neck and back.

Foran, who is a friend of Pearce's, was also present but there is no suggestion he was involved in the brawl and he was not spoken to by police. However, Manly officials were asked by the NRL to provide a report on the 18-year-old's involvement.

"We are aware of the incident and we are awaiting an internal report," Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn said.

The brawl occurred after the party Bradley was with believed someone in the Roosters group threw ice at them. Bradley's brother, former Wests Tigers and Manly centre Nick Bradley, approached the players and police said it appeared a verbal altercation then took place before matters became physical.

Nick Bradley also suffered a back injury and a graze to his chin.

Ambulance officers attended but Morrow claimed none of the Roosters players had shown any concern for his niece, who was visiting from Queensland to attend a 21st birthday party for his daughter Emily.

"The thing that angers our family the most out of all of this is that when Kristy hit the deck none of the players showed any care whatsoever for her wellbeing," Morrow said. "It was as if nothing had happened."

Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce, who was with the players at the police station for up to five hours yesterday, said the club would make no official comment until today.

And the NRL said it would await a full report from the Roosters before commenting on the incident.

Mate have you ever been involved in a scuffle? The last thing you could do is walk up to the woman that was attempting to break it up, the partner or men with her would put you on your ar$e.

Oh no, a scuffle broke out in a nightclub.

Had this not involved an NRL player we wouldn't be hearing about it.

                              Farking media beat ups.

Heck, at the game I was being rowdy after some drinks.

Especially seeing Gallen warming up to get on the game. He copped it hard.
