Fantastic interview. He is just *so* passionate about our club and our players.

I'm excited about the Academy he said was starting next year to bring through elite youngsters into being "Roosters for life".

Did I hear right that he was actually a player? I know he didn't play first grade, but was he actually a Rooster as a player or would that have been in his formative years in Ipswich?

Class interview. The fact he is so determined to make our club like "Barcelona" and "Manchester United" is extremely exciting and the development of our juniors is only going to get better and better.

Scary sight for the rest of the comp!

Things that stood out for me:

                      - "I like it when they hate us"
                      - Whyte "is going to be a superstar"
                      - "Joey's injury broke me up - I had tears in my eyes"
                      - Joey's try might have been on Latrell's mind when he hit him - "it's why he bashed him"
                      - New Academy emulates what they saw when they visited Barcelona - the best young players, best coaches, focus on practise, practise, practise
                      - Vision is to be Rugby League's Manchester United - always at the top
                      - Just signed a contract with John Holland to build their new HQ at the new stadium. It's our ground, nobody else will be based there.

He’s just like us. He’s just a mad supporter. And lucky enough that his great wealth gives him influence and makes him close to the team.

I love how he compares Trent to Alex Ferguson. So those other clubs thinking they can poach our coach can go whistle up a gumtree...

Another fair point was how supportive he was of young Brad Abbey explaining that due to Covid, he hadn't played for 6 months. So respectful of this and a good reminder of how fair minded Nick is. I also love how he said after everything is built there will be no doubt around the Moore Park area which NRL club is based there.....lots of good signage etc..

gotta go do some more work now..enjoy the rest of your week everyone..

Exciting. New academy launching next year, new stadium opening along with the return of a few key personnel. Very exciting to be a rooster. Good times ahead!

Also that he was aware many supporters and sponsors had volunteered to chip in for the 40K fine, but said "we'll be right thanks". That gave me a big laugh.

I've calculated that Uncle Nick can afford to pay that fine again for another 50,000 press conferences before he runs out of money. Hopefully by then all of the current NRL administrators and refs will be long dead.
