  • A question

On talkin sports yesterday, just before they clocked off, a question by Papworth got me thinking. He asked “ what if Nick Politis told the NRL that we’re not paying the fine? What can the NRL do?”
Got me thinking! What if? Something to mull over as we have a 9 day turnaround and it’s a great feeling being a rooster and not having to worry over the weekend.

They would deduct it from our grant or reduce our salary cap.

Spot on. They’ll manage to take it one way or the other

i don't know what the procedure is - when a player is charged he has the right of appeal and he can take it to the judiciary but i don't think robbo can do that. still, the nrl said we've got 5 days to respond so there must be some option other than just paying the fine

Could take us to court just like if you don’t pay a speeding fine. We play under the NRL banner so we have to follow their rules.

We wouldn't have won the penalty count 8-3 or got an 8 point try. Plus Ikuvalu would have been binned for a shoulder charge.

Uncle Nick could have taken it from Papworth's appearance money. Wait...not sure that would have amounted to much..

What would happen is Sutton would have given all those penalties he gave us, to the Raiders until we paid the full amount. The price for respect cost the club $40k.

Dont know about that. Normal service likely to resume next week or the week after should we get that far.

It's money well spent and it served a purpose. The club wanted it this way because all other avenues have failed and the NRL needs to be accountable.

The NRL won't admit or announce their incompetencies but they now have to fix or fine tune what they've created with all the tampering and rules changes.

But do we go back to normal broadcasting next week when it really counts?

They farked off Perenara and he needs to stay away. The officials need to complete the season with consistency both on and off the field. I would also like to see Anusley having a presence in the bunker to help officiate. He's got more years of experience than all of them put together.

Massive review in the off season i reckon.

                              100% Agree mate.

I do believe a review will happen. Just not sure what will come of it if anything.

I reckon they will find a way to mask their inabilities or find ways to go about their agendas in other ways.
