Freddy is #1. As a young kid in the 90s there were times when I wondered if it was in fact possible for Easts to actually win a comp, considering the likes of the Drongos and Faiders teams of that era. I started to believe that it could happen only when Freddy came across.
Its hard to describe what it meant to me as a 14yo in 2002 seeing a Roosters captain lift the Trophy on GF day. My favourite footy memory of all time.

I remember telling a mate on the school bus home on the Friday before the 2000 grand final that if we don’t win then we won’t win a comp for years because Lam is a huge loss, glad we only had to wait 2 more years.
