Nutley was here for one season returning from the UK and was a standout in a garbage team, what are you smoking?
Hi Danny, it is great to see you here. It is not that I disliked you as a player - I just think you were a disappointment.

Soliola looked like he was going to be a superstar in 2004.

Setaimata Sa - a wasted talent

David O'Donnell - our first big signing in years and didn't fire a shot. Was beyond abysmal.

Brian Smith - the rah rah halfback, not the coach.

Rocky Laurie - had his moments but always played better elsewhere

            Gavin Miller - see above

Kerry Boustead - gave good service, but did he really live up to expectations? You could argue that he was a better rep player than a club player. It probably didn't help that he was all over the shop for us, between fullback, centre and wing. My boyhood idol. Was so devastated to see him leave and I really thought his best still lay ahead. I was wrong. Probably peaked as an 18 year old.

It’s a general question that was asked. It’s not necessarily about player ability. I was bitterly disappointed when RTS left.

I remember poor Willie Brown getting absolutely lambasted on the old Wall after a Good Friday match against the Broncos. He only played 2 games in 2007..poor bugger..I've never felt so sorry for a player.

Dave O'Donnell was a big name signing? He has a reasonably long name but not even his mother would have considered him a big name signing. Freddy was a big name signing, SBW was a big name signing, Teddy and Cooper were big name signings. Dave O'Donnell was a tradesman-like player at the most and played accordingly when he was with us

Carney TBH because we invested in him, he became a Dally M champion and then he ran amok. Also, he went missing in the 2010 GF for some reason.

We recovered, but I think there was so much untapped talent there. There's guys like Ben Barba who I couldn't give a rat's about because they bashed women and shyte after being given a million chances. Aside from him Goulburn rampage, Carney never hurt others though (physically, I know his behaviour was a massive strain on club leadership)... he was just a clown.

Can Pearce go into that category too? Not really on talent but a lot of talented players were sent packing in order to keep him around (maybe controversially but that includes Soward, who seems to actually like out club these days, has a great boot and never farked around!) We gave him endless leadership duties despite the fact (IMO) he was basically a manufactured player who was damn lucky to have grown up with NRL stars all around him at BBQs every weekend. Rather than respond with appreciation and humility, he just became a farking spoiled brat. Then he left and did all the jersey kissing...etc. I dunno! I reckon Robbo legit gave him a chance to earn $800k a year to come off the bench as Cronk's understudy and he coulda been carving up the past couple of seasons. IMO there's just no self-realisation from his end how hard fringe players have to work in order to be 2nd fiddle to him (e.g. Watson... even Morts, although I know he has family connections). We wasted so much time and money on that guy and he gave us nothing!!! My biggest memory of him is (after missing EVERY drop goal since forever) how he finally (quite awkwardly) bumbled one over on the 4th or 5th attempt from right in front, then celebrated as if it were a godly act of brilliance. I mean fark me... Walker (the runty little nephew of an okay footy player) slots one over in his first game and since then has done so ever since without being a d!ck about it. I dunno... I'm Pearce has moved on. It took a lot of bravery for Robbo to sign Cronk on top of him and I think that's what sets Robbo apart from other coaches. He makes the tough decisions and does so with class.

Hastings can join the above list too. However, I've ranted too much so will end it with that. No idea what he did but he clearly p!ssed off the senior playing group.

Terry Hill I never liked him and he stopped the draft which I think would have been good for the game in helping the bottom teams improve.

You forget that these things are all relative. We'd not been able to attract any big names for years, hence the reason we signed Phil Gould at the end of 1994. Fittler was a HUGE signing. A once in a generation signing. But O'Donnell was a big signing, probably our biggest for 5 long seasons.

I think Anasta was the most over-hyped signing we made in my years of watching footy. Supposed to be the main man to replace Freddy which was not gonna be easy. Promised lots but delivered pretty much nothing. I felt sorry for him when he was voted the most overrated player but in hindsight can see why.

That said MP would be the biggest let down ever. Pearce showed his true personality after leaving us. We invested so much in that twat for over a decade. Was never brilliant or lived up to expectations or his family name. Yet the club and us fans continued to back him through all his off field BS and poor big game moments. Enough has been said about the kiss the badge crap.

Deep down I'm sure he is disappointed. I remember Cronk reaching out to him before he signed with the Knaughts to express his desire to play with him. Well here we are 2 premierships later, and Knaughts looking at another underwhelming year.

It appears that he who kisses the badge last doesn't laugh the loudest.
