  • Debutants and Development

just finishing of a busy Thursday. So i thought i would go through our player list and find out how many newbies had their debut as a rugby league player playing for the Roosters
Billy Smith. Jpseph Suaali. Sam Walker. Ben Marschke. Ben Thomas. Egan Butcher. Fletcher Baker. Naufahu Whyte. Tuku Hau Tapuha. That makes nine player had first grade experience due to our retirees and injuries.
I also had a look at how many of our squad of thirty actually made their nrl debut with us. I counted 21 out of thirty. I think that would have to be the best in the comp.
    1911 1912 1913 1923 1935 1936 1937 1940 1945 1974 1975 2002 2013 2018 2019 2020

I thought Moala Graham-Taufa had a solid debut recently.

Interestingly, I think he was the Roosters first use of the 18th man.

Not sure I can agree, given he took the field in the 79th minute of the match. He didn’t touch the ball and made 1 tackle before missing a tackle on the final siren, which saw Souths score.

Shoulda slotted one of these in

Glad to see him get his debut despite the short stint but not even Robbo would’ve got much from his showing. Other than lighting the fire and what it feels to get flogged by Soufs and Trent using the 18th man rule for the first time.
