My take of the game after being there.
it was the good ole Dr Jekylle and Mr Hyde Roosters playing tonight !
the first half, we did actually hold our own, We worked for all our meters and tries, the dragons worked off the back of a couple of piggy back penalties. Defence in the first half was strong and we definatly held our own and were in a good position leadng into the half !!!
Some great combinations between fitz and Pearce for fitzy's 2 tries.
it was not as pronounced in the first half but....SA is NOT a 5/8 !!! Simple.
Our second half, there are 3 key points that commenced the downward spiral for the roosters.
The Penalty we gave away 1 - 2 min after half time
Sammy p's dropped ball deep in our half after a dragins kick
The call on our 30 where the ref "thought" we knocked the ball over the sideline.
they were 3 points in the first half that tipped the scales in the Dragons favour and caused our heads to drop.
Our lack of ball early in the second half really put us under the pump and when we did have the ball, our lack of a 5/8 was SO MUCH MORE pronounced, with pretty much pearce and Friend trying to run the show and sa playing as an extra lock/2nd rower.
Lets just say that we had the chance to win this match, if we continued to play as we did in the first half, we would have been in with the fighting chance..................................i guess you cannot stop Dr Jekylle/Mr Hyde !
