  • Retiring Roosters...

Can anyone remember more retiring Roosters and Ex-Roosters in one season? Can almost make a team

Roger Tuivasa Sheck (Rugby is retiring)
    Brett Morris
    Josh Morris
    Dale Copley
    Blake Ferguson
James Maloney (Super league GF to go)

Craig Fitzgibbon (Coach but feels like a retirement for us)
    Boyd Cordner
    Iosia Soliola
    Jake Friend
Nathan Cayless (Coach, gone but is he retiring?)

Just missing a halfback & lock retirement..

Sign of the times...it's not just the fans hating/ not enjoying the way the game is run these days. Under a dictator like PVL who could blame the players from wanting out.

Other than RTS & Fergo none of those players are wanting out they are all older players with injuries nothing to do with PVL.

Don't be so sure...free spirits like Blake Ferguson could have easily continued. he is only 31....still could have played on if the game wasn't a nanny state.

Boyd Cordner retired over the media hype and fear campaign over concussion issues. Minus these things he most likely would still be playing.

PVL's extra speed of the game retired Bmoz earlier even though he was likely retiring now anyway.

Drawing a long bow there mate. If a club wanted to sign Fergo for the same amount as what he will get in Japanese Rugby he would stay.
Boyd Cordner retired because of head knocks nothing to do with PVL, it was the Roosters who retired him not a fear campaign.
        You answered the Bmoz yourself.

Craig Fitzgibbon is going to be a head coach in 2022 but this guy says he's retiring lol RTS playing rugby union "retiring" Nathan Cayless not at the club "retiring"

Fergo also started playing first grade in 2009 at like 18 years old and he seems likely to go join Japanese rugby but retiring due to Vlandysball btw

"Boyd Cordner retired over the media hype and fear campaign over concussion issues." What an absolutely stupid comment this is, no wonder you're an anti vaxxer

Cordner made the decision to retire as medical advice he received said he could continue playing - he made the point that the mind and heart were not aligned to make the decision to keep playing

              - Brett Morris - 276

              - Isaac Liu - 203

Don't forget that guys like SBW and Ryan Hall were both on our books last year who brought a good amount of experience and depth too...

Astute recruitment is important. Watson is definitely a good start, but an experienced outside back and forward would really round out our 2022 squad well.
Well said, agree with all of that. So much experience lost..

Also congrats for been the 1st non troll in this thread and actually contribute something. This place needs more u and less trolls like Mickey lame and SK Gimp.

Boyd retired because of the FEAR of getting another head knock and nothing else...and unless u got a memory of a goldfish there was a PVL led frenzy about high tackle crack downs and concussion problems.
If Boyd started his career 5 yrs earlier then I've no doubt he would be a 250 game Rooster player, not 181 game player. Roosters retired him??? lol...dumbarse comment...zero substance.

Fergo likely would have played for less if not for a toxic league environment atm.

Sorry but BS. He retired after the excessive PVL fear campaign regarding high tackles and concussions. Ultimately he made the choice but it was inevitable due to the concussion fear campaign at the time. If his heart wasn't into playing he would have retired before the season and not wait to get his body and head right.A PVL casualty definitely..

You trace all this back to PVL, and you expect a serious response.
I thought it was a joke too
