  • Tommy Makinson sinbinned for a high shot on Sam Tomkins

Just thought it was funny seeing these two pretenders named in one sentence. Remember the world's best player (ahead of Teddy by far) and the bloke who had the wood on Billy Slater? They're both still going!!!

It was a great game of footy.
Today has been a ripper in regards to close competitions.
First up the SL GF was unreal with the 12-10 final score line then live on fox the Liam Smith v Anthony Fowler fight from Liverpool England (both from Liverpool) which was a good fight going for 8 rounds, it was in the Super Welter weight division which Tim Tsyzu is in. Smith won.
Then on main event it was the Fury v Weilder epic trilogy fight & what a pearler it was.
    Top day.

Tomkins main problem was that he joined the Warriors.

Tomkins couldn't hack it in the NRL and it cost us RTS.

Yes and no. I think RTS would have been as good as Teddy if he stayed with us.

I doubt it. Plus we would be looking for a new fullback for next year but instead we have Teddy until the end of his career.

Yes but it gained us Tedesco.

If RTS had stayed, I don't think he woulda equalled Teddy. Teddy is the more complete player.

Also, I don't think Latrell's development woulda been expedited. Meh. I don't think we woulda won B2B premierships with RTS as fullback.

Above all... you can't buy the lifelong passion/loyalty that Teddy has towards Easts. Arguing RTS woulda been better is like saying 'I woulda been better off if I'd gone with that hot girlfriend who dumped me in my early 20's instead of my wife of 30 years'. Fact is... Teddy's the one who has committed to us and surpassed RTS by a long shot. A lot of that comes down to the fact he loves our club and wants to develop within our systems. RTS didn't want to continue developing within our systems... he wanted to go back to NZ, earn $1m a year and be with his girlfriend.

I reckon RTS is as good as Teddy & if he had of stayed at the Chooks I think the results of 2018-19 would of been the same.
