During the lockdown I was watching shows such as - Fawlty Towers/ On the Buses/ Love thy Neighbour/ All in the Family/ Open all Hours/Porridge/To Death us do part etc - none of those shows would be made nowadays -Even with Fawlty Towers they deleted scenes from a number of the episodes - The Germans episode was pulled by the BBC from their platform and after a review reinstated it with the following - contains some offensive racial language of the time and upsetting scenes"

I think he's doing well to remain quiet and stay outta the spotlight. Nothing to gain by publicly debating them and/or trying to swat them down. They've gone to social media rather than the NRL, not thinking that the NRL would ask the bouncer and check the CCTV footage (which I presume Easts have already done before Kelly gave his statement... Kelly wouldn't just make up BS and support a guy without knowing he had a defensible position).

IMO unless there's CCTV footage of him approaching them, yelling shyte out and then giving them a 'do you know who I am?!?!?' dressing down when approached then they're toast.

Instagram user who wasn't even there? I suspect the investigation will find something like:
      - Ladies overheard somebody (not even Teddy... how would they even know unless they are fans?) say Squid Game followed by laughter.

      - Next day they had coffee with their sister and told an inflated story about how people had yelled it at them and they'd given it to the group for being 'racist'.

      - Sister's an Instagram kiddie who posted everything on there and dramatised it without thinking about who might see it. Suddenly her 10-20 viewer instagram got flooded.

      - NRL integrity calls saying 'full disclosure... we have reviewed the CCTV footage with full audio, spoken to the bouncer and a couple of Asian girls who were standing nearby have also given their angle on this. We take your original allegations very seriously and would love it if you could write-up an affidavit confirming what you've said to journalists and Instagram is correct... are you willing to do that? Think about it because the option's out there and we'll definitely do a thorough investigation if you'd like us to take this further. Alternatively, meet Jizzy from legal. James is on $1 million a year and we're yet to see whether he suffers a financial/reputational loss from this... if you sign here then neither party accepts any fault and neither party will pursue further litigation... sound fair? Okay done. Let's all close the book and move on'.

He was with other Roosters players, but they probably worked out he was the biggest cash cow.

They aren't really that smart. He would be the last person to behave like that.
All my dealings with Teddy at charity functions he has always been very humble and respectful.
He is a very generous guy with his time and money and doesn't deserve this shit.

I was told today she has again changed her story. No doubt experienced Rugby League jurno's have been given the same information.

They know it's bullshit and when it's time Teddy will give his version.

We really do live in a world where anyone can accuse anyone of anything. My feeling is that teddy is a cleanskin, a genuine good guy who comes from a good family. I don't think he is dumb and nor do I think he is uncouth or uncultured. I simply don't believe it. We live in this sick cancel culture where every dickhead with a smartphone thinks they can catch someone out and ruin their lives just so they can get the clout. I would like to see the mob go after accusers that are found to be lying as much as they go after people for something they did or said in the past.

I did enjoy seeing Jessica Peris struggling on SAS Australia. Lying tart.

About 15 years ago a mate of mine (who has a Chinese background) and I were walking down Elizabeth St on our way to a nightclub. A car with 2 Asians pulled up at the traffic lights that we were about to cross. The bloke in the passenger seat yelled out at us "Harold & Kumar, White castle is that way."Not only were neither of us offended, but we thought it was funny. 15 years later I still think it was funny.
In our society we need to not tolerate racism. However we need to be better aware of when is racism actually occurring and how we react to it.

Your episode sounds like a shared experience Super, the guys in the car being ironic. Had they been cruisin' young white Aussies however, you can bet the intent would have been racist.
During my period as a high school teacher I saw something unusual. During the 50s & 60s the Italians and Greeks mostly copped the casual and not so casual racism (there was a play on the curriculum - The Shifting Heart" which was intended to soften hearts. Whether it did or not I don't know but on one occasion I was marking that section of the old School Certificate which asked " Write about a piece of literature you have read this year and say what you learned from it". One kid wrote, "The Shifting Heart" is a play about a migrant family in Melbourne who are treated horribly by their Australian community. People call them names, throw rotten fish over the fence and they bash the son. What I learned is that if this keeps up we'll soon be at war with the wog countries".
But I digress. What I saw was a much different response from Lebanese - they called themselves "wogs" in a defiant way and they took no shit either. Cronulla happened after several earlier incidents with Lebanese where the Aussie Shire mugs came off second best. The riot was intended to show who were the real bosses and the aftermath was a Leb counter attack on that - no backdown, no cop it sweet. This was different to the reaction of any prior migrant group including the Vietnamese.
In 40 years the population has risen to 25 million and the Western Suburbs are now brown. Whitey's day has gone but we're still clingin' to that Union Jack our "we were here first" talisman and, of course, the Abos don't count.

And how sad eh. Humour is the way forward for healthy societies, any such censorships make us a bit less enlightened and cohesive. And dumb.

Does it? I guess so (see my Off Topic re Dumbville). Can't imagine being swayed by the opinions of a lot of unqualified twats but anyway....

Ted is a young man..a few drinks...pretty woman....unsolicited attempt at a joke (verbal wolf whistle)...unsurprisingly an offence taken. As SKSimpson says wisely says it's not up to whites to decide how minorities feel though Bwana Jaxie clearly believes that it is. The days of Abo, Wog, Dago, Spic, Coon and Jungle Bunny are gone but I don't put Ted in that league. His was a careless remark for someone in his position and notoriety. Be ever the gentleman should be his first inclination as it should be for all of us.

                        • You want to see madness? The cartoonist Leunig was sacked for a cartoon he published on social media. The Dan Andrews brigade pressured the paper and he was sacked for not following the MSM narrative re supporting the jab.
I’m tired off all this tyranny and people telling us what we can and can’t say.
After a prized five-decade long career, cartoonist Michael Leuing has been axed from The Age newspaper over an image on mandatory vaccination in Victoria. Read more.

If true, that could be cause for doubt in the minds of investigators.

                              Yeah that's odd.

Looking at the cartoon, is that even Tiananmen Square? I thought that was that charismatic old dude whose house got re-zoned as a highway in China (and he just stayed there patiently until the military forced him out).

I disagree with anti-vaxxers and am glad I live in a city where more than 99% of people have their first dose (so there's no debate over it). However, Leunig's an iconic cartoonist (an official 'Australian living treasure') and he coulda been saying ANYTHING there. My mum (who is fully vaccinated) enjoyed his commentaries on the matter of lockdowns/vaccines as they reflected her experiences during lockdowns...etc. She's not against lockdowns and vaccines. But like... she's approaching her 80's (similar age to Leunig), single, lost her main house to the bushfires and has been unable to see her sons/grandkids for quite a while now. She has a right to feel a bit trapped IMO.

Everybody who's a bit different seems to get accused of being a horrible person and cancelled these days. Sigh. Clearly Leunig was using hyperbole and does not think we're living in communist China with tank-mounted syringes being fired at us from all angles. Surely a cartoonist of all people have the freedom to use a bit of hyperbole and get people laughing about stuff.
