you were there were you pado colt ??

I was , I was on patrol with the guy who was assaulted by the gang of middle Eastern guys. we had asked them to stop kicking their ball around on a crowded beach and harassing young girls, ( this type of crap had been going on for a few years and was getting progressively worse) of course they ignored us. There were about 5 of them, to cut a long story short , we got the shites with them and were escorting them of the beach when a whole bunch of their mates rolled up ( the odds weren't in their favour ,5 of them 3 of us, so they called in reinforcements !) one of them threw a hey maker at my mate , not making any real contact, slipped backwards and hit his head on a star peg! the gang of about 15 then took off.

I myself was assaulted on the following Wed, after going in to help a young local surfer who was being harassed by initially by a small gang of middle Eastern Youths, and with in minutes a small army were there! never seen such a cowardly act as i witnessed on that arvo, they were running in throwing or kick or punch then taking off and hiding behind the pack as the next guy/girl took their turn. i went in to help the young guy, was king hit from behind, ( glancing blow) I turned around and looked the guy who through it straight in the eyes , im 6'2 and was around 100KG and VERY FIT, the dude who through the haymaker POOED himself and ran!

the media got wind of it and the rest is history.
the actual "riots" started out as a peaceful protest until about midday when car loads of blowins started arriving and they started stirring the pot! young locals with a gut full of grog being stirred on by blow ins intent on creating trouble, bang POO hit the fan...embarrassing and shameful.
that is what REALLY happened on that day.
      .
The things I remember the most about that day was the chunky white cop flogging those pea brains that were trying to bash some poor Indian/Paki dude on the train. The other thing I remember was seeing a Kingswood ute with a BBQ & a blue healer in the back & AC/DC being pumped out, it was so Anglo/Aussie. The Bra Boys & the Commo's worked it out in the end.

The irony seems lost on you that this thread is partly dedicated to calling out people falsely accusing others of racism, yet you do exactly the same to a first time poster trying to protect our communities.

          • Guys, I actually did post back in 2010, I had a couple of spare GF tickets and was trying to offload them to fellow chooks fans!
other than that, well that’s it!

re. The “ big copper” who was waving his baton around on the train, well he was so traumatised by it, that he had a nervous breakdown , lost his family and home. You know who “ took him in” and looked after him? The Middle Eastern community! The reason , he put HIS Alice on the line to protect that young kid! FACT!

Dr voodoo!, you don’t know me, I’m no racist or a Shire Dickhead! I was not involved in any protest! I wasn’t allowed to be! Plus I’m a clean shin , no tattoos! So please buddy, don’t go pigeon holing people you don’t know or have never met !

                • Is Squid Game as shyte as Game of Thrones BTW? Sounds like the same thing but with Korean dudes instead of white hipster dudes in Warhammer-style drab.

PS - if I see another meme with some dude pasting a random object that an online community likes to a Squid Game still where a guy's like 'why are you here? I thought you were financially stable' then I'm gonna lose it. Fark I hate it when people over-use pop culture references.

he definitely knows how to stir the pot, and it’s good to have him here to sometimes balance things out, but I also love how posters on here defend and protect our club in any situation a million percent, be it the ref bias, juniors, owners, coach, and a pure hatred against Souths.

when paddo talks old school footy and times, he makes me feel like I’m there( not sure if he could be a journalist in his earlier life) he actually makes me look up a few things, be it a good or bad thing.

and Tommy, I LOVED how mental you used to go in game day threads, I would feel exactly the same, but you didn’t care about a bit of backlash from some on here.

It is what makes it all the more interesting for me to look in here each day.

With respect Mick a soldier seldom appreciates the wider context of a battle. I was for several years an SLSC member and some of the guys on patrol could get high handed with a public (Surfers especially) - give someone a little power... that was far more supine than it is today. Generally, I came to see the club as being right wing and led by Tradies come good who mostly held racist conventional views. The authoritarian personality is drawn to such volunteer outfits. I daresay that there were plenty of incidents where the mere presence of family picnics with hookahs, covered up women at the beach, exotic BBQs and unfamiliar tongues, caused discomfort.

The other thing that is at odds with your protest is that Cronulla locals have a history of exclusion. Before the Lebs and their alleged "reign of terror" there were the "Bankies" working class folk from the West who, on arrival, were routinely exposed to Shire exclusivity - the "this is our beach" mentality. The old Bankies were whitebread as well so the situation only got worse as their colour darkened over time.

                        • [QUOTE=Dr. Voodoo Man; My grandfather was in Changi. Younger Japanese have no idea about what went on. I find that they are almost unable to process it when told.

Not tryin' to denigrate you or the grandfather VM but as Japanese POW camps go, Changi was just about the pick of them. The mere name has a generic resonance in Oz but life there was relatively liveable and the historic pics that we see of men, bones protruding, were likely prisoners recently returned from projects far away from Singapore.
A few years back the real Changi story was part of an ABC Radio National doco series called Myths of Australian History. I'm sure readers could find it in the ABC site archive. All of the series is interesting.

So the white boys from the Shire were innnocent and falsely accused? Ok bud. Those lifeguards were racist as hell.

Speculative? What, that the Shire is whitebread and has form on exclusion? We never saw the like at Bondi although some may remember "Bluey" Mayes who may have been related to Johnny but was himself a beach legend, one of the original surfers from the 40s with the plywood longboards. He also parked a caravan off promenade where he more or less resided.
In his youth he was a prominent member of a beach gang/group - The Cornel Wilde Boys, so named because they wore the hairstyle the American actor - a kind of pre Elvis brush back. Maybe the King was himself half in love with Cornel.
Anyway Bluey was also famous/infamous for an incident in 1949 when the boys came across Robert Helpmann, the Australian dancer and Margot Fontaine's preferred partner, promenading in white Oxford Bags (a stylish mens' fashion at the time). Seeing someone more individual than was the norm and obviously gay, they swept him up, gave him the bums' rush down the beach and hurled him into the surf.
Not quite in the Cronulla league but a similar dynamic at work.
