NSW Blues and Sydney Roosters skipper James Tedesco has been fined $10,000 by the NRL over a late-night incident at Bondi Beach.
It had been alleged the champion fullback directed a racial comment towards a woman of Vietnamese descent which forced the NRL’s integrity unit to launch an investigation.
The Daily Telegraph understands the allegations of racism could not be proven.
However he was fined for drunken behaviour.

Can Teddy sue the woman for defamation and get her to pay for the $10k??
And does this now set a new precedent for all NRL players - a $10k fine for any drunken behavior??
What a JOKE ...
Another nail in the pathetic coffin of the NRL.

- No acceptance of fault for the actual allegation, but acceptance (privately) that he coulda done more to deescalate it.
- He's on $1m+ so it's a drop in the water (1% of his salary or less and it's probably in the form of a tax deductible charity donation, so he'll get half of it back from the man).
- NRL have 'done something'. Book's closed. Teddy's free to play, captain, earn...etc.
- Minor lesson learned. Be REALLY careful when out in public. You literally dunno who anybody is. Some random Asian girl in her 20's could have a brother who sponsors South Sydney. Assume EVERYBODY is in that boat and give them NOTHING... absolutely NOTHING to fault you on.
