  • Aw c'mon Jax. Name calling is the thin edge of the wedge and, undiscouraged, can be dangerous and crippling to society. Usually, it seeks to dehumanise its target, usually some minority, and is often employed when a ruling elite sees threat or political advantage.

With whitey on the way out here, the situation is particularly fraught especially with the old rich white ascendency trying to hold the fort - the Union Jack for example and that tosh re the memory of all those who "fought for our freedom" and all that it implies. The Lebs' direct action has shown the way and they and other minorities will, hopefully, continue to confront Murdoch and other champions of "free speech".

If you're going to champion the elimination of dehumanising or derogatory racial terms, could I suggest that you exercise a bit more care with your own language. I'm not sure how acceptable a term "Lebs" is, but on more than one occasion you've used the term "Abo" when referring to Indigenous people and that is certainly unacceptable.

And what about "whitey on the way out here". Surely that's anti-white racism. He's a bit obsessed with segregating people on skin colour.

The bloke is sick, needs help. Anyone who hates their own country that much yet is happy to live off its freedoms is such a farkin hypocrite.

I’m Lebanese and I’m fine with ‘Leb.’ But I’m only one opinion
          EASTS TO WIN!

          • I've always admired the way that Lebanese call themselves "Lebs" in a kind of defiant way. As for "Abo", I use it only in the context of other Aussie die hard epithets. First nations were dehumanised early in the piece and are only just reemerging thanks to education and new generations.

            • I'm erring on the side of caution and closing this topic. Besides a verdict has been handed down by the politically correct brigade and it's done and dusted.
