Let's just say that if Teddy did say what he did, it was poor form. Also, if you believe the accuser - The club conducted their investigation without bothering to contact the accuser. That in itself is also poor form and a bit suss

It's not suss. The captain of the club said he didn't do it and that should be enough. He has proved himself as a decent and trustworthy person.

The whole story is ridiculous. Reporter Sarah Keoghan thought she might make a name for herself and chased up a week old Instagram post. After she tracked down and talked to the girl she encouraged her to report the matter to the Integrity unit. Proper Journalists didn't touch the story Why? They did their research and found out it wasn't true.

The integrity unit and Karyn Murphy will sort out who is telling the truth and it won't be Sarah Keoghan.

I think on an unspoken but assumed level it's ok because he's Asian. Like how a gay guy can refer to another gay guy as a fag.

For those of us that are neither of those the rules are different.

Aboriginals can refer to themselves and other Aboriginals as Blackfella's but Whitefella's can't call them that - Same in the US - African Americans can use the N word or Black describing themselves or other African American but Whitey's can't call them either of these.

It seems the cultures that take casual racism less seriously tend to fair better in the race stakes. It's obviously not how we should go about it but it seems the only way for it to wither away.

I'll preface this by clarifying I am Asian and Vietnamese. If Teddy did say what he said towards that lady, it could be interpreted as being racist and he should know better.

The comments suggesting that he has nothing to be accountable for and he will never be able to open his mouth in public again are rubbish - and clearly miss the point.

That said, this is not a huge deal. You'd just expect your club captain to be better.

I too am of Asian heritage and believe that blatant racism is unacceptable.

But I am also of the opinion that everyone these days need to take a chill pill and not take life so seriously.

I don’t know exactly happened with Teddy but am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt given his history of high integrity and being a perfect role model.

Given the context, is shouting out Squid Game the crime of the century??
It’s like me going to Bondi Beach and shouting Baywatch to any Anglo Saxon woman that happens to walk past!

It’s obviously a slow week in the media for this story to even make the news.

If Teddy is proven innocent, I really do hope that he takes legal action against this woman for defamation as this will make future punters think carefully about making false accusations in the future just for their 15 mins of fame …

The problem I see is likely alcohol. Alcohol lowers one’s IQ to that of a complete idiot. Teddy would never do such things but alcohol would. I would be horrified if it’s true and he never had a drink. He definitely knows better.

You don't understand my point- did you watch the first rush hour movie when they go into a pool room - Chris Tucker -Carter ( African American) says what up my N word to other African Americans - no issue - When Lee ( Jackie Chan) say's it all hell breaks lose in the pool room as the bar tender is offended by it - why wasn't the Bar Tender offended by it when Carter said it though - It should be offensive no matter who says it one would think.

My grandfather was in Changi. Younger Japanese have no idea about what went on. I find that they are almost unable to process it when told.

Here it's moderate compared to most western countries. Cancel culture is rife. The bullying pack thinking they are morally right so any means necessary Crusaders behind keyboards. It's revolting.
