As somebody who's lived in an Asian country (only white guy in a small town), has Italian parents (who copped heaps of racism and were thrown outta Australia during race riots) and has 'Asian' family... I dunno! Whether Tiffany overheard a drunken conversation or he reactively yelled 'aaaaw Squid Game' when seeing a group of Asian... I don't think there's anything in it. Complete over-reaction from Tiffany, who sounds like she wants a fight more than anything else.

Reminds me of a time in Cabramatta where a Vietnamese lady kept beeping her horn, swearing at me and calling me 'chicken shyte' for 'stealing' her park (I got there first). I got out and she was toe-to-toe with me (pushed & punched me a few times while yapping at me), calling me a racist and all this other shyte. Then her partner (fat dude with no English) came outta the car with a metal bar and was instructed to threaten me. As they were going on this whole rant about 'racism', my (Vietnamese) wife came outta the car with our ~6 month old son in her arms and the lady started scream 'YOU SUPPORT THIS RACIST CHICKEN SHYTE?!?!? HE SAID F-U ASIANS... GO BACK TO WHERE YOU COME FROM... SAY IT AGAIN TO YOUR WIFE CHICKENSHYTE'. Police were called and she made a whole scene about how this 'big white man' had threatened her and been racist. They reviewed CCT footage, cleared me and then I said I had no interest in pressing charges coz I just wanted to go home with my family. She wanted heads to roll. I just wanted to chill out, scoff down a decent pho, sip some bubble tea and GTFO of Cabra ASAP.

Other common things I see people making a fuss about are:
      - People asking 'where are you from'? Me... 'oh I grew up in the Gong and stuff but my parents are from northern Italy... little town... blah blah blah'. Others? 'AUSTRALIA!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! Blah blah blah...'

      - People telling others to shut up when they're being extremely noisy in a foreign language. Me (when I was living in a Tokyo apartment and a Japanese neighbour came around to tell us he was trying to sleep + heard lotsa loud English)... 'oh sorry man yeah no problem... hey probably time to wrap-up guys as our neighbour's trying to sleep, we can re-convene at the pub tomorrow'. Others... 'HOW DARE YOU!!!! I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK IN MY LANGUAGE!!! PUT SOME HEADPHONES ON OR SOMETHING IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!! I WILL RECORD A VIDEO OF THIS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA YOU RACIST!!!'

      - People referring to them as 'some [insert race] dude'. Me (again in Japan)... zero reaction. Yeah I mean technically I'm a wog and I live locally as a PR but yeah... a white guy came in and ordered a massive serve of ramen. You found it amusing that he could use chopsticks neatly like a Japanese person, speak fluent Japanese and eat 10x as much as most locals. Others? 'WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!?!? HOW DAAAARE YOU!!! I LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY!!! I HAVE AS MANY RIGHTS AS YOU!!! MY USAGE OF THE LOCAL TONGUE IS PROBABLY BETTER THAN YOURS AND I HAVE A $$$ JOB, LITTLE MAN!!! I WILL NEVER EAT FOOD HERE AGAIN AND I WILL PLASTER YOUR FACE ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA!!!'

Not to dismiss valid racism but I think some people are just entitled d!ckheads who love to grandstand about 'racism' whenever they think they can milk it. To me this is seeming more and more the case in Tiff''s circumstances. For her sake and Teddy's sake, I hope this is all dealt with quietly and we hear no more of it. Call me whatever but that's my preference with minor BS like this. Assume good faith in the first instance (rather than doing the whole toe-to-toe challenge - which will only ever escalate things) and move on unless it's a major issue that needs addressing. Which in this case... it isn't. You're calling a wog a racist because you heard him say 'squid game'. I don't think there's any serious issues that need addressing here.
I've been refused entry to quite a few places in Japan and Korea for being white. Korean hookers will often close the door in your face if you are white ... or so I hear lol.

That’s BS! Mickie Lane goes to Korea every year just for the Korean girls. From what he’s told me, they love him there.

haha he wishes! No bullshit though that is really true. In Korea even girls that work in window front establishments will walk away from whites, blacks, Russians, etc.

Hahaha not really my scene but you're right, all those establishments (called 'soap lands') will have quite prominent 'no foreigners' signs out the front. You wouldn't wanna enter though. They're all run by the yakuza and that industry's notorious for doing the old '$50 bucks entry for 30 minutes of free drinks + a chat with a pretty lady'. Japan's the most fair, honest country for consumers in the world IMO. However, when you enter a yakuza den looking for pretty girls, you're signing a blank cheque as soon as you set foot in the establishment.

True story, once I tried gaming what's called a 'snack' (they'll let you in if you speak Japanese) by ignoring the girls and just drinking beers. Basically, the sign on the door says '$30 for 60 minutes of unlimited drinks with pretty ladies'. I assumed that if I took no extras, they'd have to put up with a frustrating 60 minutes, where the only action going on would be my lips sucking their beer tap dry. Alas... as soon as I walked in, they were like 'nup no free drinks... you choose a girl... $100 for her to serve you drinks, $50 for your drink, $50 for her drink, $50 for your beer snack and $50 for her beer snack... all these items are necessary or nobody's gonna serve you a drink'. I was like... 'but what if that crusty old guy pours me a beer and I just sit at the bar?' Nope. Only the girls serve drinks and you've gotta pay then $$$. I figured... $300 just to sit down and sip a beer, fark this!!! Walked straight away saying 'nup... ripoff'. Oh man though! I got a glimpse of some tradie who'd just received his summer bonus. He has like 4 ladies hanging off him & drinks everywhere. Was winking at me as if he were the king. Poor sucker... his $10-20k yearly bonus (a component of their salaries) woulda gone straight outta the 'thank you' envelope and straight into that establishment's pockets. They must make $$$ doing that!

Vietnam... you'll be having a haircut and the lady will be like 'how about I close the curtain and pull our your Johnson?' (Yeah, no thanks... oi that's my wife and kid there BTW and they heard you). That or some random lady in the street will be like 'hey get on the back of my scooter and I'll take you to a hotel?!?' I've heard stories of people [cough cough - Jamal Idris] doing that, being driven around heaps of confusing streets/laneways (just to boggle their mind) then being dropped off in a shady alley where some armed dudes will be like 'give us all your money you idiot foreigner'. Is that racist, or is that just idiot, male, foreigners being stupid enough to think that getting on the back of some random scooter was gonna enough well for then? Oh sorry, but he was 'abducted'... right :P

When do we find out, Christmas 2022?

Looks like Mr NRL boss is worn out from doing two jobs and is thinking of
                leaving.
Good if he could get a result on this first...fans are sick of waiting.

The very serious allegations levelled at Teddy need a very serious investigation by the NRL and a very serious, very clear, and very definitive statement issued.by the NRL.
                      Why?
Because as things stand now Teddy, in the eyes of many people, could be seen as guilty.

                      • The Sydney Roosters are yet to return from their holiday break but it feels like the club is already facing a crucial point in their season.

At some point early next week, the NRL integrity unit is set to hand down their findings in relation to James Tedesco amid allegations that he directed a racial comment towards a woman during a night out in Bondi a week ago.

The implications could be significant for both Tedesco and the Roosters. Tedesco is the captain and face of one of the most powerful and influential clubs in the land. He backs that up by leading NSW. He may eventually captain his country.

There is a World Cup coming up at the end of next year and Tedesco is a frontline contender to lead the Kangaroos – Nathan Cleary’s form for Penrith and the Blues suggests there is no certainty the other captaincy candidate Daly Cherry-Evans will own the Australian No.7 jersey.

When you package it all up, Tedesco has a lot to lose. It helps explain why the NRL has taken their time and spoken to all involved as they attempt to piece together the night in question and ensure justice not only for the woman involved, but also Tedesco.

Tedesco fronted the integrity unit armed with a lawyer and presented his version of events earlier this week. It is understood that in essence, he told the NRL that he wasn’t addressing the woman when he is alleged to have yelled “Squid Games” – she was of Vietnamese descent.

Instead, Tedesco is believed to have told both the Roosters and NRL that he was having a conversation with his friends and the woman misunderstood what was being said.

The woman at the centre of the allegation and her sister, who took to social media to make the original claims, have been interviewed as well. As have the other players and people who were in the group with Tedesco when he was out and about in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

There were whispers on Friday that Tedesco may apologise for what he claimed was a misunderstanding, while at the same time insisting there was no racial motivations behind his comment.

It’s a fine line to walk but Tedesco has some of the most nimble and agile feet in the game. What makes it worse is the timing of the incident given the NRL and chief executive Andrew Abdo have endured a difficult off-season.

The shenanigans involving Penrith and their five-eighth Tyrone May have shone a bright light on the game’s cultural deficiencies and while Tedesco is one of the most revered figures in the code, now is not the time to be at the centre of allegations of any type, let alone those that suggest the degradation of a woman with a racial remark.

The NRL still has its hand on a review into rugby league’s culture that was carried out by commissioner Megan Davis. Nearly two years after Davis and the NRL announced plans for the report, it is gathering dust as head office wait for the right time to go public with its contents.

Now seems as good as any given recent events at Penrith and elsewhere. If you want to fix a problem, you first have to acknowledge one exists. Davis’ report may do just that.

Which brings us back to the Roosters and Tedesco. The Roosters carried out their own inquiries and found their talismanic fullback had no case to answer, having been satisfied that nothing untoward took place on the night in question.

The Roosters are one of rugby league’s flagships under the leadership of chair Nick Politis and coach Trent Robinson. Yet, it may not reflect well on the Roosters if the NRL come to a contradictory conclusion and find there was some substance to the claims.

Tedesco has worked hard to get to where he is. He had well-documented injury problems early in his career, caused a stir when he left the Wests Tigers, but fought his way back to become one go the most influential players in the code.

Remarkably, two words could bring it all undone.

I think the problem is that the NRL's chosen to announce that they're investigating. What are the possible outcomes?
                          - NRL makes a finding that 'nothing happened'... ABC do a sting job with her having a massive whinge (with 'her story') and all the social justice warriors think the NRL's evil for 'victim' shaming her.

                          - NRL makes a 'nothing major happened' and Teddy says sorry for something he didn't do (while getting fined more and missing more games than guys who've been arrested for things like DUI, or caught using illegal drugs). He's then in a position where he's making a confession and she's not happy anyway because she'll never be happy (and probably just wants $$$).

                          - NRL throw the book at Teddy, strip his captaincy, suspend him for 10 games, remove him from NSW/Australian duties and completely derail our club for 2022. Complete overkill and I suggest Teddy's lawyers will be in touch with them if that happens.

                          ---

IMO they're probably not 'investigating', they're finding a way to come out of what would otherwise be a non-issue without tarnishing their PR. Teddy's pretty much THE face of the game and a complete cleanskin. Easts have made their position clear so it's just the NRL coming up with a PR strategy now.

How much are you played for Origin and World Cup duties as a captain? If he loses both jobs (plus is asked to pay the NRL/charities $$$ as compensation in order to retain his registration), Tiffany won't have enough money to cover his losses for defamation. Of course, as an Easts fan I don't want Teddy chasing some defamation suit in any case. I want him to be able to focus on his footy.

Can't wait for this to blow-over. Times like this I'm glad I'm in legal and not PR.

                          • This is nothing more than a one sided story drummed up by a Souths fan and her buddy Journalist to make the Roosters look bad.

I missed it. What is the serious allegation? He shouted out "Squid games" Big deal. As if the NRL or the Integrity unit really cares about people shouting out "Squid games" late at night.
                            What does that even mean?

What did the girl shout out? How drunk was she? What is her connection to South Sydney? We have only heard one side.
She originally laughed it off and then sobered up the next day and came to the conclusion with her Souths connection it was intimidating.

If you do apologise for something you didn't do, ... bullied into, or talked into doing so for some reason...your apology WILL BE JUMPED ON as a sign of guilt...and you WILL be sorry forever that you did so.

NEVER plead guilty if you are innocent.
