I am reading between the lines on this one.
His agent says he hasn't received an offer from the club he was after.
Dolphins , Cowboys & Tits have already submitted their offers.
That leaves Broncos, Warriors and us.
Chookmaster is on the money - we are the ones most likely.
But I would say the piggybank is empty if the Manu deal gets done.

A while ago chooks made an offer .Smith didn't come back at all and as far I know chooks didn't want to wait for an answer so withdrew their offer..has that changes since?

I don't see him coming here, he is chasing the money.
Those that say him signing with us so he can win premierships are dreaming, he can stay at the storm and achieve that.
I don't blame him or any player chasing the dollars especially when he already has a premiership to his name.

Or his other motivation might be to be the starting 80 minute hooker.... as well as $$$ up.

Why would the piggy bank be empty? Joey would already have been penciled in to stay. It's Boyd and Jake money. Cronk money. Latrell money. Issac money.. it's someones money.

No one could make an offer until November 1st I think??

A decision like this is never that black and white. Money at this level is only one of many factors that he would have to consider.

He's made it very clear that he's leaving the storm for a guaranteed starting position at dummy half. He's not in a position where he will need to take a pay cut or take unders to achieve that either - he's in demand so of course his management will be seeking a good upgrade and then I'm sure he will want to be at a club where he see's future success.

I'm sure he'll pick the offer that balances those 3 the best whilst also factoring in other social, lifestyle & self actualisation motivations.

To say he's simply chasing the money is simplifying a really complex decision.

Smith to Easts has always felt off to me. Just feels like a weird fit, not sure why.

I thought Cronk to the Roosters was a bit weird, but that worked out OK. Ryles now being assistant coach might help us with Smith.

Besides that, there's already a show like he wants.

I've seen it, it gets a little samey after a while.

I love watching him play, crazy tough and seems like a likeable larrikan.
However, we already have one of those in our team, who has better ballplaying skills, so the 'balance' doesn't seem right.
I'd rather use the money on Manu, who can cover every position in the backline, AND Hooker..
