I'm not sold on Smith as a long term gain on big money. His game is based on power and enthusiasm more than skills. Not a great passer from dummy half, no kicking game, defence average or below for a hooker. Certainly a weapon in attack, but how long will that last ? I was a big Sammy V fan, but he struggled after coming back from injury, I still think there is a lot of upside in him, I just can't see Smith as more than a running backrower, and we have the Butcher boys, Sitili, and Rads. I can't see him being worth more than $500K, but he will probably get more than that from the Dolphins.

The chooks have spoken to his manager a number of times according to a mate who got that from Smith himself .Who knows what's going on now after the white powder fiasco. If we still have a no dickheads policy then we wont be signing him. i reckon it was easts his manager was talking about when he said they haven't got an offer yet from the club they want an offer from. We will see what happens but i reckon they will pass on smith.
