I Remember being excited prior to us signing SBW. We heard the rumours for months but nothing was confirmed. Then all of a sudden the chooks held a press conference announcing the signing. I was so pumped up.

I haven't felt the same until now, if we manage to get his signature it will be up there with one of our best signings.

That's just my opinion.

B smith is coming from arguably the most professional club in the NRL and under the best coach so I’m going to rule out that for a motive.

I mean he’ll want to join a competitive club no doubt, but I really think the highest bidder will get him.

He is, but Golden Boy Grant has been selected as their long-term #9. Smith can do nothing to stop that and has to share the role with a guy who the commentators loooove as their little golden boy (IMO gratuitously at this stage, although I'm sure they see signs...etc that only pros notice).

If that's forcing him out then he might want some continuity in terms of coaching/facility standards & guaranteed success.

Not saying there's bad blood but IMO a guy of his talent shouldn't have to share his job. If Grant's his equal (or better), I don't think he should have to hold his hand.

Its slightly better than Api, Cleary, Lui & Edwards or Cook, Walker, Latrell & ? or Croker, DCE, Foram & Tom. Its on par with Grant, Hughes, Munster & Papanhausen. You have to have the highest quality players playing in the spine to win comps they have to be rep players, yeah I know Edwards is not a rep player but he plays off the back of the best player in the game.

The tales of the Storm's demise has been doing the rounds for the last 5 seasons.
But they have managed to finish close to the top of the competition table every year.
I'm not sold on Grant and Munster like some are, but Hughes and Paps are world class footballers.
