  • Lam potentially on the move?

This comes for a Pearce article in the telecrap (which isn't relevant to the chooks) where there was a comment Lam may be on the move.

I don't see him cracking the 17 when healthy so would be happy to see him get an opportunity elsewhere. Not sure who we would be after from the Tigers in return though...

"This comes as it has also emerged that young Sydney Roosters playmaker Lachlan Lam’s name has been thrown up as a potential player trade option to head to the Wests Tigers so Luke Brooks could in turn move to Newcastle.

It is understood the Roosters have been discreetly looking at options for Lam who will struggle to make Trent Robinson’s top squad next year given Luke Keary’s return from injury to partner young Sam Walker.

Throw in the fact Connor Watson is also returning to Bondi from Newcastle as the obvious bench utility.

This latest twist will make for an interesting arrival for new Tigers head of football Tim Sheens when he officially puts his feet under the desk for his first day on the job on Monday."

It doesn’t surprise me at all to hear the Weats Tigers are chasing Lachlan Lam,it kind of typifies their disastrous recruitment decisions over the last few years!

Lammy would be a good value pick up for some clubs. Good luck to him.

Lam should head to Super League, it's his level. He could have a good career, travel Europe cheaply and have success. IMO he isnt an NRL player, just like Flanagan & Hastings before him. If you cant shine in our system with Robbo and top class players around you, you are going to look worse in a lesser club. Wish him well, I just dont think he is up.to it

Geez we have had some terrible luck with son’s of team legends. It’s almost a curse at our club.

Makes sense given we gave Hutchinson a 2yr extension and rumoured to be looking at Brown... assuming as a replacement for Lam.

Yeh it's sad to see some of the comments he's received over the past 2yrs from supporters of the club. Clearly not up to standard but not like he hasn't tried hard or that he has ever done anything wrong by the club. Best of luck to the kid, hope he finds his feet somewhere like Hastings did.

i think Lam is a better half than Brooks, so if I'm Newcastle, I'd sign Lam and save $500k, money they spend on Ponga

I think because we have Watson he can be our replacement five eighth, we can also put Hutch in the halves if we need to. I don’t mind if Lam leaves the club.

If he leaves in a swap deal, I'm not sure who would be worthwhile to bring in from the Tigers. No one really stands out (especially a player of equal value i.e. not in the Tigers starting 17 etc for example).

We'd be better off simply letting him go to clear cap space.
