Always liked Verrrils. A very reliable player. Would love to keep him.

He has to go to Parra.

We won't keep Sam , very good player but he isn't Cheese .Sam deserves to play a regular hooker role and I suspect that will either be Manly or Parra

Reportedly, Parra will make a play for Verrills if Smith joins the Roosters in 2023 or earlier (if the Storm release him sooner).

Prior to that he was an emerging gun. Short memory. Credit points get Sam the whole season to prove you wrong.
As much as I like Verrills .I+cannot imagine anything better than watching Radley and Smith and Walker running off Keary or each other and setting the other players up near the oppositions line

Smith and Verrills could both be the dummy halves with Watson a utility for both forwards and backs and not necessarily the second Dummy Half

Can Smith play 80? Maybe if he was just dishing the ball, but he also runs hard, we will expect him to tackke hard too.
Does Watson play a stint at 9 during the game? That nesses with our cover a bit. Verills would be great here, but then we lose a bench spot.
the answer is for Smith to play a stint as a middle forward, help out our middle rotation.

I think Watsons goal is to be the NSW utility in the same way Craig Wing was, which would see him playing a lot of dummy half I imagine.

I think Smith has made it pretty clear he wants to play 9 and being the competitive bloke he is he probably thinks he is the best in the game.
Sam is too good for a 20 minutes off the bench role and will look elsewhere for sure.
I'd rather get an explosive 60 minutes from dummy half out of the cheese and Watson filling in as both the replacement 9 and roving lock or backline spot if injury arises.
Smith's days as a running forward are over once he joins us , he could have stayed at the Storm for that.

Smith can't play 80 minutes. Verrills contracted til 2025. they will both play together, and be an awesome combination.

Imagine if the Storm dont release Smith for 2022 so the Chooks go with Verrills & he has a top season & we win the comp.
I just love Smiths explosiveness & toughness but I also think Sam has the potential to be one of the top No 9's in the game if he is 100% fit with another season or 2 under his belt. I think Sam should go back to Manly if it doesnt work out at the Chooks.

I don’t think you can have Sam V and Watson on the bench together. It’s one or the other and I think Watson’s versatility wins him the spot. Let’s hope we have a good run with injury and this becomes Robbo’s problem. I still think we are short an experienced forward for next year.
