Can't use black or white anymore have to be inclusive colour wise and include them all or not at all

i.e can't say something is black and white or black or white - the term to use is it's "Not clearly defined or differentiated"- In my Department(NSW Education) we actually received a list of inappropriate sayings/words/phrases etc for emails and correspondence and this was one of them.- black and white or black or white

It was also interesting an email we received last year from the Covid Task force saying how they are developing and working on a "Final Solution" for a return to the office which didn't happen - mmm two words one should not use together either and were later included in the appropriate sayings/words/phrases etc list.

In English Rugby for an example the 2nd 15 were called the England Saxons - not any more they are now England A which always baffles me as wouldn't the first 15 be A and the Second 15 B - same for others sports too such as Cricket who use A for the second 11.

The word Saxon is deemed as a commonly used term to describe white people.

Saxons were from what is now Germany - they obtained the name Saxons because of the Knives they used - Seax in old English / Sax in German and Sachs in old high German nothing to do with their skin colour.

They could have used England Romans/ England Vikings or England Normans - mmm probably not

    • I think Sam Verrills will be a star if he overcomes his eye injury.
I don't share the hysterical love for Brandon Smith.
I think Verrills is on half the money we paid for Smith,
I think Verrills is a better dummy half, at least as good as a defender, and therefore he is much better value than Smith.
I think if we lose Verrills because we signed Smith it will be a bad result for us.
I hope we can keep both because I think they will compliment each other, but if it had to be one or the other i would choose Verrills everyday.

One is good and the other is better. I think Sam will stay until his contract finishes at the end of 2024. By then he will have 2 more premierships and sign a big fat contract with parra?

I agree as some on here are thinking a GF Win is in the bag because they signed Smith - Not sure there were a lot of people praising him in posts before he was being chased and ultimately signed by the Chooks though?

          • I watch this game for entertainment. Smith provides that in bucket loads. (Not to mention the fact that he is a great and very influential player). I’m as happy as a pig in shit.

Most on here find it very very difficult to praise a player from another club but believe me most on here rate him. It’s the same as Cleary, Cody Walker or Olam they are all high end players & deep down most people on here know it.

              • Roosters probs aren't going to play Smith at dummy half (much). Verrill's is better there. Smith is a running forward. Big waste having a powerful running forward/not so skilled dummy half passing off to less
penetrative players. I think Verrills is pretty safe as long as he develops.

Don't see that as being the case .Smith has made it known he is leaving Storm to be first choice hooker
He has had some sort of guarantee that will be the case or he would not have signed with us .Sam may stay but will be as backup

17 player game though and Robbo is not a fan of running and kicking dummy halves one has to say - so will Smith just be passing the ball to others when playing dummy half?

I know some on here say you need two props on the bench but backrower's such as Crichton and Sitili could move up to these roles during games- noting that for an example that Fisher -Harris as a prop is - 1.87 metres ( 6 ft 2 inches) and 105 kgs ( 16 stone 17 pounds )

                      Crichton -1.87 metres ( 6 ft 2 inches) and 102 kgs (16 stone 1 pound)
                      Sitili - 1.94 metres(6ft 4 inch ) and 101 kgs (15 stone 13 pounds)

                      Collins is 1.94 metres ( 6 ft 4 inches) and 106 kgs (16 stone 10 pounds)
                      JWH is 1.94 metres ( 6 ft 4 inches ) and 108 kgs (17 stone)
                      SST is 1.86 metres ( 6 ft 1 inches) and 108 kgs (17 stone)

I would say Egan and Nat Butcher would have most likely put on some weight not that i am saying they will fill in a prop although Paul Gallen was 180cm (5 ft 11) and 115 kgs ( 18 stone 2 pounds) - the maximum weight for a prop in the faster game and ball in player longer in my view. - I don't think Gallen would play at that weight of 115 kg's if playing from 2020 onwards though -retired in 2019.

                      Egan Butcher is 1.87 metres ( 6 ft 2 ) and 96 kgs ( 15 stone 2 pounds )
                      Nat Butcher is 1.84 metres ( 6 ft ) and 97 kgs ( 15 stone 4 pounds )
                      Fletcher Baker is 1.94 metres ( 6 ft 4 inches ) and 107 kgs ( 16 stone 12 pounds )
                      Renouf Atoni is 1.90 metres ( 6 ft 3 inches ) and 110 kgs (17 stone 5 pounds)

So a bench of the following is not out of the question.

                      14. Watson
                      15. Verrills
                      16. Nat Butcher
                      17. Baker

Especially with the rule changes - the multiple hit ups/ out the back with decoys and kick on the last is old hat and doesn't cut the mustard anymore - 1 or 2 hit ups then move the ball - right to left and left to right and run the defence around.

If you play the old way against Storm or the Riff you may as well shake hands and walk off as your not going to win the game - move it (the ball) or lose the game

You hear a number of coaches complaining about how their roster reflected the game pre the rule changes in 2020/2021 and you can see a number of these players (the bigger guys as some on here call them) in those teams struggle with the pace of the games.

It's not the defence load that tires them out it is the up and back in defence - you see in games how players struggle to get back the 10 and turn their backs on the attack and run to get back on side which opens it up to dummy halves running or short pass attack exploiting that.

Those "bigger guys" need to shed weight and improve their mobility. agility. fitness and endurance to cope with the faster games and ball in play longer and to play longer minutes.

The days of replacing both props after 20 odd minutes are gone- you waste 4 interchanges just for the sake of replacing them.

You would see in games props being replaced in the first few minutes of the second half which i could never understand as they should be rested after the 15 or so minutes half time break - seemingly coaches had a regimented time for replacing players and length of time they played for irrespective of any break such as half time.

As Bob Dylan sung or some would say spoke " The times they are a changin' "- the game that is.

With Smith in the side I would go Watson, Egan Butcher, N Butcher & Tuku if he comes on next year. No Verrills on the bench because he will be playing for Manly or Parra because he’s not going to play 2nd fiddle, he’s a first choice 9.

So Smith goes down - Watson on - A half goes down who comes on? - my bench Verrills comes on for Smith and Watson for the half

Either of the Butcher brothers would come on & you move Watson or E Butcher to 5/8. Rads dummy half.
I see where your coming from with the mobile moving the ball around players & your bench could happen but in all honesty I don’t think Verrills will stick around because a Parra or Manly will offer him a starting spot because he’s a starting player not a bench player, he’s earn’t the right to be a starting player.
