  • pat on the back for FPN

I know a lot will be said about tonight's last minute try and I have only seen this once, but I reckon one of the defining moments (of that last play) was when FPN off loaded the ball when he could have easily taken the tackle. I may have that wrong but regardless, I thought he did OK most of the night and keeping the ball alive at that time was pivotal.

But it's only one game (albeit an entertaining finish) and considering how we played, I'll take the win as I'm sure there is plenty of improvement left.

    There certainly is 007 !

Round one, regardless of trials, the boys were going to be rusty, there was always goiing to be mistakes, hell even the vermin made mistakes, difference is, they tried to make most of their opportunities. You can put that down to experience.

Our boys, held out what ever they could, watching the replay, you realise how much work they had to do, considering the age range of our players, they did an awesome job considering their youth.

For round 1, i did not expect anything more but am overjoyed for the win.

You're right about FPN, his hit ups were mostly effective and it was High risk with that offload.... but as they say, who dares wins !

Yes it was FPN who slipped the offload away late in the match Thought he was solid and one of our more creative players tonight

Good post considering the shit FPN has had dished out to him by some

Totally agree, thought FPN ran with with vigour and looked damaging in some parts, good for round 1, hopefully he will have a sterling season and put some humble pie on the menu

I also am overjoyed with the win. Not because we played so great, but to hang in there and get the result is great for their confidence. Plus, its always so shitty losing to souffs scum.

FPN was yanked in the 17th minute after dropping the ball & then not being ready when souffs got the penalty that Crocker scored from... Still a lazy player. We are weaker with him in the side.

Are you sure it was FPN who wasn't ready at the tap?

The shit was deserved. FPN would be teh first to admit his head was not there last year as he was being a tool with Carney and Myles. You can see he recognises his slackness and has made a good change in attitude. Last night was all attitude and its about bloody time he has shown this.

Good spot, that's exactly what i thought when i didn't see him on the field. Unless he went off with back-tightness?

That defensive lapse can be spread between JWH/FPN, although for tap kicks - the defence usually compresses meaning FPN had to tighten up(That being said, i didn't have the wide shot to see how many players were already there on the right edge).

I would lay much more blame on JWH. I know the gap opened between JWH and FPN, but JWH was asleep and far too compressed. IMO it was JWH's responsibility to 'fill' that gap. FPN was marked up on the outside men

He was taken off due to back spasms, returned to the game with alot of pain....

He should suffer this more often

In your opinion. In mine it was over the top melodramatic and theatrical By some of our supporters who are renowned for this when it comes to bagging players

His attitude has changed and he will be a better player for it FPN has always had the size mobility and skill I think he will be a shining light for us this year

Anyway Melon nice to hear from you I am off to Perth afor a few days on business Back for Sundays match though Looking forward to it Will be another tight one in my books

No FPN didn't push up, looking sideways and kicking stones. He left the hole.

Lazy play again. It's a shame cos he has all the physical attributes, must be a mental midget.
