  • Where have you spotted a fellow Roosters supporter?

    I'll start.

Outside the Colosseum in Rome, late September in 2017. We were both wearing Roosters caps as we walked past each other.

When my dad was on his death bed (was bedridden + non-verbal for ~5 years in an aged care facility) he shared his room with a dude with severe dementia.

The dude was locked into happy/agreeable mode and just answered 'oh yes yes thank you!! Yes... excellent!!' to everything. In 2013 I vividly remember seeing his Easts jersey (musta been a massive fan - an old, heavily worn one) + a Hawthorn scarf.

Every time I walked past the dude I said 'go the Roosters!!' and he'd respond with 'oh yes, yes... excellent!!! Thank you very much!!!' Then both won their respective premierships so I had to tell him 'maaaate they won!!! Congratulations!!!'

TBH it was pretty saddening that he didn't get to appreciate the moment. He was very happy and said 'oh yes excellent... thank you very much... oh thank you very much... yessss...' multiple times. Hopefully he at least understood on some sorta level.

Out the front of Westminster abbey in 2016….hot English summer (yes they DO exist). I was wearing my chooks training singlet and this old dude walked by and yelled out “go Easts”…funny as.

I was playing for Estonia in the ice cricket world cup on Lake Harku, Tallinn, about 15 years ago, where I met an Irish guy who was in the England team. He was wearing a Roosters scarf between innings. I told him that I am a mad Easts fan. Turns out that he lived and worked in Sydney for a year, where he was converted to the tribe by the people that he then worked with. Also met another Easts fan in Woolworths Devonport, Tasmania, when I was shopping in an Easts top.

2022 is ours for the taking. Go Easts!
