If only I could upload photos - there’s a post uploaded by young Alex Leapai on his Insta, it’s of him and Salle Vaa both together wearing a roosters polo. They look huuuuge, so excited for these young boys.

We dont need to fork out big cabbage for Haas because if we stay patient in about 2 to 3 years these boys may be the equivalent.

In 2 to 3 years Haas will be the best front rower in the game and these young guys will still be untried rookies

It all comes down to $ HC. Haas wouldnt come cheap either. 3 rookies contracts Vaa bros and Leapai combined would equal his yearly earn.
Also, what if we sign Haas and the Vaa brothers and/or jnr Leapai get the shits in a few years because they cant get a look into 1st grade and head elsewhere.

What if the Vaa brothers and Leapai don't end up being good enough for grade anyway?

Fair point, a response i was anticipating.
Going back to my previous comment, for mine it really comes down to $$ & the number of high end players you can fit into your salary crap vs developing and nurturing the "next crop". Melbourne & Roosters do a brilliant job of applying their formula across their squads and are the benchmark.

In a few years time (all going well with injuries etc) i envisage the likes of Teddy, Keary, Walker, Brandon Cheese & one other emerging star (possibly Sualii) commanding top dollar.

Don't get me wrong............i'm a fan of Payne and believe his best footy will be best served at a premier club. Maybe Haas could replace a retired JWH and take-over his $750K ??

16yr olds Alex Leapai Jr & De La Salle Va’a… both played their first game for the tri-colours HM trial match at the Central Coast last Saturday. Both home in Qld now, for Christmas, but will be back down in Jan for training & preparing for season 2022!

nothing in life is guaranteed but I believe in the Roosters system of recruitment & development… time will tell. RWB

Some of the Roosters Qld recruits with Roosters Jersey Flegg trainer, Stephen Driscoll

Peter Uini 17yrs, Rob Toia 17yrs, De La Salle Va’a 16yrs, Xavier Va’a 18yrs, Alex Leapai Jr 16yrs

For what it’s worth, Xavier (then 16yrs) at preseason training with the Broncos nrl squad, talking to Haas, who had said to him, that he was looking forward to one day playing together!

                              Ah mate how good.
Obviously I dont know them nor have I seen them play but I did watch them on a recent podcast & they came across as lovely sort of quite blokes, I really hope they reach the highest heights at the Roosters.
