    Opinions about Mortimer...

I thought he went alright. All of his conversions were successful, which Contributed significantly to our success. The commentators kept confusing him with Pearce when he kicked, saying Pearce had really improved his kicking... whoops that's Mortimer!!! Both his conversions and kicks in play were decent IMO... probably better than what Braith can do.

That said he really is tiny!!! Is it just me? I don't wanna see him running the ball much more because he seems to get dominated waaay too easily (especially by big forwards like Burgess.)

Interesting to see him play 80 mins (which look... he lasted without showing fatigue...etc.) I probably still prefer Braith, but I think his kicking ability is up there, and will make him very useful!!! Cordner's kicking well too maybe a new role for him

performance was a 'meh' Not great, not terrible. just run-of-the-mill solid. It would have been nice if we got some more time on attack so he could have had an opportunity to prove himself. His kick for Guerra was pin-point.

I thought he didn't take the pressure off Pearce enough which stagnated our game a lot especially in the second half
      Spanner gone and never forgotten

Maguire's game plan was to run his big forwards at Morts as much as possible. Morts defended bravely & effectively....around the shoelaces each time. Very fit young man.

I agree don't think it was great but it definitely wasn't bad... Hav to remember it was he's 1st game (not including trials) and ye I did think that myself that he was getting dominated when a forward grabbed him but he did make some nice lil darts aswell he's back up play is really good to was always hanging around the ball carrier... I think for now id have him off the bench but if Anasta starts to struggle id have him starting

That's why we need more 2nd phase play. Apart from FPN who got 4 offloads away last night, his pack mates weren't really trying to do the same. Morts is very nimble & effective in this area especially on big opposition forwards. In the trial against the Dogs he scored off a neat FPN offload. Taka & Bosden are good ball players off the bench.
