I cant see the sense in this expenditure.

Unless we're ditching the bears for a lesser comp?

Yeah interesting....I wonder about whether the Bears partnership gets extended or not too. They are deadly serious about having another crack at an NRL gig.

I hope it continues, good dynamic all round.

The Bears will be the Chooks NSW Cup side still - Apparently the Roosters side in the Sydney Shield will be a feeder side for the Silktails Ron Massey cup side and Chooks Jersey Flegg - so younger players i suggest.

The Sydney Shield is a fair standard comp having seen my Junior Club East Campbelltown Eagles play it in over 8 or so years - They won it twice - East Campbelltown Eagles have moved back to the revamped NSW RL Macarthur Conference which includes clubs from Campbelltown to Liverpool and Group 6

Under 6's to 16'S will play in their local comps

Under 18's to 1st Grade will play in the NSWRL Macarthur Conference - East Campbelltown Eagles will field teams in under 18's / 3rd grade / Reserve Grade and 1st Grade and will also have a Women's Open and Under 18's sides in 2022.

You never know what players you may unearth though as weren't both Benny Marschke and Benny Thomas playing Ron Massey Cup for Hills District Bulls which were a feeder team for the Bears NSW Cup side.

That's one of issues comps like the Sydney Shield and Ron Massey cup somewhat resolves - what is there after Jersey Flegg if players are not signed to play NRL or NSW Cup - they may stop playing - Sydney Shield and Ron Massey cup gives these players an opportunity to keep playing and be possibly signed by NRL clubs or at least their NSW Cup feeder side- Benny Marschke and Benny Thomas are 2 examples of this- from Ron Massey Cup to NRL

This was reported on another RL site - Makes sense with the Chooks partnership with the Silktails to have a feeder team for the Silktails RMC side and an additional pathway for other players too from Chooks and Central Coast Roosters pathway sides to play and continue playing if not signed to a NRL /NSW Cup/Extended squad contracts.

It was posted on another RL site by someone who is across these comps and reports on these games- Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield- I think they freelance for the NSWRL as they did some calling of the games on the NSWRL Facebook live stream the season just passed.

The draws for Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield will come out early next year - they weren't 100% sure that the team would be called Sydney Roosters but were adamant they will be funded by them as another pathway team and feeder team for the Silktails in the Ron Massey cup and Sydney Roosters in the Jersey Flegg comp.

                  Have to wait and see
