Rads is our 13. He is playing off the bench at best. Egan has gone past him.
So you don’t think he gets selected?

      Not in Robbo’s eyes.

I like Sitili off the bench.
The big guys belt him around too much in the first 20.

Cords and Maubs definitely. But they would have been ahead of most back rowers. Matto played a fair bit of centre for us in 2017 and then was a constant either in the team or off the bench in 2018. Butcher was nowehere to be seen at this stage, He played 2 games in 2017 and 13 in 2018, whilst Guerra was wearing Knights colours in 2018

The Big Guys are not as big since the rule changes which has resulted in a faster game and ball in play longer- they have had to shed weight - Fisher-Harris is 6ft 2 and 105 kgs and Papalii (Raiders) 6ft and 110 kgs - For an example Papalii was 120 kgs at the start of the 2020 season.

The days of 120 kg plus props are numbered - 105 to 115 kgs seems to be the ideal weight for props as they need to be more mobile , agile with greater endurance to play longer minutes- JWH is 108 Kg's / SST is 108 Kg's and Collins is 106 Kg's for an example - Backrowers - 95 to 105 would possibly be the ideal weight range

Only plays 40 or so minutes a game though - to play longer minutes would need to shed some kg's for sure and certain - 6ft 7 and 130 kg's - His future is up in the air in any case as he is not double vaccinated -currently training by himself

The 25-year-old’s NRL future is under a cloud after standing firm on refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, which is required to train and play under Victorian government health orders.

                    I'd certainly sign him.

plenty of good ones in the 115kg plus range I think, haas, fonua Blake, junior paulo, taumalolo, Burgess, Bromwich without looking too much into the figures.

I agree but I also agree with what King Salvo is trying to get across. The game needs to go the way KS is talking, its got to be more like when players grew up & threw the ball around, like he says the 3 or 4 hit-ups then a kick is boring, I know its all about not making a mistake but throwing the ball around is where things happen. If teams like the Chooks dont play into the oppositions defensive line by allowing 1 out battering rams to be hammered by 3 defenders & play a more expansive style of a game it will have the opposition in 2 minds, all teams know the opposing team is going to try & charge through their defensive middle so they train for that & are ready for that so to come up with something different will benefit a fit strong team like the Chooks. On the first & second forwards should be off loading & then on the 3rd & 4th feed it out to your backs & if nothing has happened in those 4 tackles then on the 5th kick down field & then hammer the opposition who will play a 1 out barge game.

It would be good to see an open skilful game, but I think paulo is a great example of a big man, with some pretty silky ball skills.

it all comes down to how they are coached, you can get a player like papalii to drop 15kgs, but he was offloading balls at will when he was 120kg, if the games changes, the players will naturally adapt and potentially play at a lighter weight.

Maybe a game with a minimum two passes before you can get tackled, or the opposition get the ball

Egan Butcher is a middle forward, like his brother.

Both only play on the edges when we have a thousand injuries, which seems to be every game!

Someone previously mentioned Matterson leaving because he wasn't aggressive enough. I thought he went to the Tigers because the Roosters couldn't get near what they were offering.

If he is prepared to come back for less then I'd snap him up for sure.

I think Egan is a second rower who could handle lock.

Matto has shown he’s only interested in the highest bidder. Although I’d love to add an experienced forward to our side, I think we’ve been there and done that.

I think Egan can play both, he has a lot more ball skills than Nat and can be a ball player in both positions. I am really looking forward to his further development, we've got another gun on our hands.
