  • Are fans getting carried away?

Haven’t felt the love for our team so much since 2019… been browsing the forums far and wide.. with surprisingly a lot of fans having us winning the minor and then the GF. I mean, it’s nice and all but where is this coming from?

We finished on par with manly last season with the norths squad so I can understand the excitement around our full squad team but I still think the riff are ahead and possibly on level ground with the drizzle.

Anywho, it’s a breath of fresh air.

    Here come the Roosters.

I would say yes as the Chooks are behind the Storm and the Riff still one has to say. - Unsure how Souffs will go as they have lost a few key players and Manly will likely improve also.

Other teams will improve as well and the Chooks have one of the hardest draws - 13 games vs 2021 Top 8 sides ( 8 games against the 2021 top 4) and 11 games vs 2021 Bottom 8 sides.

2021 was a unusual season when you consider the top 2 lost only 3 games each and 3rd only 4 games - not sure if this will be the same in 2022 having 3 teams losing as fewer games as they did. Manly 4th and Chooks 5th both lost 8 games each.

Teams will have to win games against all sides to make the 8 and especially the top 4 to be a side capable of winning the comp

They have a lot to work on including
    • Fitness including mobility, agility and endurance
    • Defence line speed and general defence technique
    • Improving the attack for the faster game and ball in play longer
    • Improving discipline as a team and individuals as can't afford to be missing players as a result of suspensions and sin bins
    • Improving set completions rates
    • Reducing errors
    • Improving general play kicking and goal kicking success/conversion rates.

Given a fair run with injury we will win it.

i remember a lot of hype around the cowboys in 2018, they didn't get close .

however we are a different beast, not sure we will win it, but i think we will be in the mix . no real reason we cant i guess, souths, penrith and storm are significantly weaker, manly about the same but can turbo repeat his epic year?

brisbane and sharks will improve but not enough to challenge , eels wont.

            Spot on!

As proven over those past 2 years, only injury can stop us.

Scoring points won't be a problem.

if the bondi wall is back in 2022 I'll be very confident.

Depends on the NRL / Refs interpretation of the rules against us............... Fatigue sets in after defending for multiple sets.

                  it's a lottery week to week .
The 6 again rule is the biggest blight on the game .
I feel after 1 repeat set the next infringement should be a penalty with no quick tap allowed.

Never a truer word was spoken Kelby, there is definitely “engineering” going on there, with the NRL deciding by ref proxy, which way matches turn.
